This is 100% truth. There are people at my corporate job who can’t even ping me on Teams without using AI. Their brains are already cooked.

I am appalled by the Anthropic PR ads dominating my lefty podcasts. A deeply concerned "Dad" voice assures us, just like you, Anthropic has deep concerns about AI. Then they continue, so we want to give you the answers....Ask Claude AI for the answers... Like asking an alligator, are you dangerous?

There are great applications for AI, Google isn't one of them in my opinion. Google (and others) scans the Internet and too often regurgitates whatever is out there, and there is a lot of crap out there. Garbage in, garbage out!

Its interesting: when I did my first Master's work in the 80's, it was books, journals, and typewriters. My 2nd was around 2000, the beginning of online journals. So much diff in reviews and writing. Bibliographies were easier, but I can't imagine doing the work without reading the sources.

I find that a lot of this "AI is replacing workers" stuff is really companies that over-hired, and are looking for an excuse to get rid of people to boost short term profits. Is AI taking jobs? Yes. But so is short term shareholder thinking.
