Y'all, don't pay any attention to these polls and projections. They're all rat poison. Don't get high on your own supply. Vote like your life depends on it. Because it does. And take ten people with you if you can.

The problem with polls and projections is that everybody hates Congress and says they should be voted out, but they love their own rep because they sent memaw a letter on her birthday and their senators bring home the bacon. So they vote for the status quo and can't vote against those other guys.

Early voting starts today in Tennessee. Pretty good line at Blount Co. Library. (Inside about 5x longer than what you see here.) Took us 50 minutes, 40 in line, 10 to vote. Poll workers were passing copies of the constitutional amendments through the line or it would have taken a lot longer.

All the polls, predictions and punditry about a blue wave are rat poison (with apologies to Nick Sabin). It ain't over until the final whistle. Y'all better get out there to vote. And take somebody with you.

News outlets reporting that Trump will attend the Tennessee v Texas game at Neyland Stadium in Knoxville this Saturday. (ESPN Game Day will also be here). No report of why Trump is coming. Why does he have to ruin everything? It's not like he needs to campaign for GOP candidates in Tennessee.

Whatever happened to Q-Anon? They seemed sane and reasonable compared to our current clown car administration of scoundrels and reprobates.

It occurrs to me that for a long time we've been too dependent on societal norms to protect us from corrupt, criminal behavior by our government. Norms are out the window, and the rule of law is not far behind. Vote to fix it.

If we're making a fortune, why has the national debt skyrocketed to an all time high? And why are treasury bonds now considered junk bonds? And why can't working people afford housing, groceries, gas or healthcare? So much winning!

Trump: "We're making a fortune. So if the Republicans win, you win with us and you get $5,000. It will be called the Trump Dividend. Congratulations."

I almost feel sorry for the Supreme Court having to be the adults in the room trying to control every tantrum thrown by a buch of hysterical kindergarten crybabies. But fuck them. They created the monster and now we all have to deal with it.

Trump's frantic search for noncitizen voters is like Bush's search for WMDs in Iraq. Even the Heritage Foundation found that claims of massive "illegal immigrant" voting are a myth. This all reeks of desperation. Why are Congress and the Supreme Court allowing this to happen? Remember in November.

Do not vote for any Republicans. Period. Local, state or federal. No matter if they seem moderate, rational, reasonable, or anything else. They have shown their true colors by enabling traitors and criminals. They need to repent and reform for at least a generation or two before getting back to us.

Introduce yourself with 10 acts you've seen live: Nina Simone Ray Charles Leonard Cohen George Harrison Johnny Cash Prince John Lee Hooker Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers Eartha Kitt Billy Preston Bowie Lou Reed Grateful Dead Laura Nyro Dr. John Little Richard & Ravi Shankar.

There are 546 of them (535 in Congress, 2 in the White House, and 9 on the Supreme Court) vs. 342 million of us. Why are we letting them get away with what they're doing to us?

Bubba's post leads me to seek out the performance that he referenced, which I have yet to put hands to. But there is a rendition of "my mountains, my home" from a telethon to support victims of the 2016 Sevier County wildfire (Trump still fighting claims thereto) www.youtube.com/watch?v=c-I0...

A photo of Dolly I took at the 75th Anniversary Rededication of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in 2009. After her performance she thanked everyone for coming and said "now I gotta go VIP." Full report of the event: www.knoxviews.com/permanent-en...

Dolly Parton: "You know, I need to make a lot of money because it would amaze you to know how much it costs to make a person look this cheap." There will never be another Dolly. RIP.

Would you buy a used car from this man?

RNC Chair Joe Gruters defends Darlene Graham: "I will tell you she is supportive of the president. That means the president trusts her and trusts her judgment. At the end of the day, she will be a MAGA warrior ... it's a quick learning curve once you're thrown in there."

Education, affordable housing, business incentives and some regulatory policies set Congressman John Rose and Senator Marsha Blackburn — both Trump-aligned conservatives — apart in Tennessee’s gubernatorial primary. ✍️ @sarahgracetaylor.bsky.social

Fast food corporations can run all the TV ads they want about their awesome new or otherwise delicious offerings, but if they don't enforce or even monitor minimum standards for local franchise/operator outlets they are wasting their money. Money that could be better spent on local operations.

Rolling Stones Foreign Tongues is out today. Great album. Like an old pair of comfortable shoes with a new shine. The Glimmer Twins and Ronnie have still got it.

Q: (to google gemini) is the US economy better or worse off since the start of Trump's second term? A: It depends on which economic indicators are measured (followed by a lengthy recitation of mumbo jumbo and statistics). Q: one word answer, better or worse? A: worse
