Skeets 1.33.0: follow a post's conversation from its bookmark (Skeets Pro), filter your notifications, pick your content languages and get faster auto-translation. Bookmarks now load quickly and stay with the account that made them.

Skeets 1.32.1 is out. No more surprise sign-outs when the app goes to the background, your content filters apply to quoted posts and a post's own page again, and notifications load in the background and keep your place. Plus two dozen other fixes.

Skeets 1.32.0 is out. 🧵 The big one: Skeets writes your ALT text for you now - on-device. Drop a photo into the composer and the description is already there by the time you hit post. Edit it, regenerate it, pick a different language, or switch it off entirely.

We’re also shipping a new Pro-feature: you can now switch accounts right in the Composer to send off a quick skeet from your secondary account without having to do a full switch every time.

Also in this one: • Search says why it failed instead of just sitting there • Mutes now apply when someone quote-posts you • Swipe-to-like is off by default

It runs on your phone. Nothing gets uploaded, nothing goes to OpenAI or anyone else, and it costs neither you nor us anything. Needs iOS 27 with Apple Intelligence turned on. I've wanted to build this for 3 years and with this years iOS release it’s finally possible.

Skeets 1.31.0 is out. 🧵 The big one: your posts don't get lost any more. Hit post, then lock your phone, switch apps, whatever — the upload carries on in the background and lands on its own. Even if iOS shuts @skeetsapp.com down while it's working.

Two small things you'll notice every day: Your recent searches are remembered again, and they follow you to your other devices. And tapping a post opens the thread instantly, instead of that little spinner.

And if something does go wrong, you're not starting over. Every upload in the queue can be paused, resumed or thrown away. Resuming picks up where it stopped instead of re-uploading the whole thing.

This is so f**king amazing. I’ve waited 3y to be able to do this. Starting in iOS27 @skeetsapp.com will start generating Auto ALT text using the free on-device models. No data sent to OpenAI or anyone else.

For users running iOS 18.x - please update to Skeets v1.30.1. It should fix the crash that occurs when starting the app.

Skeets 1.30 is here 📸 Stories/Yeets have arrived - share a photo that disappears after 24 hours. And they're shared with @flashes.blue: post in either app and it shows up in both. #news #release #v1.30.0

🔐 Also in 1.30: Sign in with Eurosky/Bluesky/Blacksky/etc.. Proper OAuth sign-in, with cleaner logout and smoother account switching. App passwords still work exactly as before. 🔔 And if you use more than one account, push notifications now arrive for all of them.

🐛 Fixed in this release: • Crash when adding alt text to multi-photo posts • Pro not unlocking after purchase • Spurious "session expired" logouts • Switching accounts after login • Share & notification extensions failing on an expired session

Your stories/yeets live in a row at the top of your feed. Tap your own avatar to post one. A ring means someone has something new. Once you've watched everything the ring fades, and tapping opens their profile picture instead. Your own stories get a Stories tab on your profile.

Don’t like it? Stories/Yeets are on by default, but easy to switch off: Settings → Timeline → Feed display preferences → Show Stories Off means off — no story row, no fetching, no Stories tab.

1.29.0 is out now! Just five days after introducing full translations for your timeline, this release brings Auto-Threading. Simply type away and @skeetsapp.com will automatically split your text into a thread. Skeets Pro subscribers can use this tool with limitations.

Urgh. Needs to say „Skeets Pro users can use this tool without limitations“. Users without a subscription are limited to 3 usages per month.

This release also integrates with the E2EE app @germnetwork.com that we highly recommend. When you encounter a user profile of a Germ user it will show the button in the screenshot. Clicking this will send you into a DM with that user in Germ.

Well, not „every“ post literally - on-device-translation doesn’t support all languages YET, but it’s working pretty decently.

Something I'm working on for the next @skeetsapp.com and @flashes.blue releases: on-device batch translations. Translate your entire timeline to your natural language. Suddenly you can communicate with people whose language you don't speak. OFC you can exclude languages you actually do speak :)
