Sharing this space with G-pa – 78 rpm (rocking past midnight). He’ll put a G in his posts. Images are a mix of his & mine over the years. Like me, he loves the movie #LocalHero & worries about climate change, so much he wrote a script for a climate follow-up. Open this post to read more in my reply.

Believe it or not, this place is, according to the Ordnance Survey map, called St. Illickswell Gug. I really can’t remember the last Gug I visited before this one. And who the hell was Illickswell? Though as he/she was presumably a Saint that’s probably an inappropriate way of asking.

The Celebrity Traitors might inadvertently demonstrate something more valuable than its makers intended: if you build a system that rewards people for betraying one another, you shouldn't be surprised when betrayal becomes the dominant behaviour. Society, hey. Civilisation, duh

Lanterdan pinnacle. Has become famous even though it’s low quality, tacky, worthless and dangerous. Surely that could not happen in the human sphere of activity? 🥺

G-pa has written a little piece about the dilemma between AI use & climate/nature action. I think it deserves some thought & maybe debate. I know he leaned on what you, @michaelemann.bsky.social wrote in New Climate Wars about deflection & individual virtue. I wonder if you think it's a fair take?

Found this amongst the images on my phone. Any artistic merit? Any idea what the hell it’s depicting? If it was ascribed to someone with a name it would probably be worth several million shillings.

www.carbonbrief.org/factcheck-re...? Exactly what’s needed, these reformorons need calling out. Severely. @michaelemann.bsky.social you must have the same capabilities in your neck of the woods, though maybe it’s more dangerous? But courage and agency is what you guys have.

The more these cryptomaniacs throw at them the more insidious, arrogant & dishonest these scumbag reformorons will become. The task is to get everyone to recognise that anything they do or say has been manipulated by billionaires. Whose interests do they have at heart? It doesn’t need spelling out.

For me, the granite coastlines are the best, whether it be Morar, Penwith, Scilly, Finisterre, Corsica, Seychelles. ❤️And doubtless many others I’ve never seen.

Over the past 2 millennia people built cathedrals & churches as places to congregate for worship. Also for employment creation, prestige & sanctuary. It seems to me that, although this idea has “lost favour”, stone alignments like these, creating Celtic temples seems a natural precursor to religion.

Because they needed to do something, awestruck for millenia by the universal environment, they had no need for sanctuary & what a great leveller, though the stones at the west end are mostly bigger than the rest. Mind-boggling to contemplate the world in which these were made. Much like AI. 🤔

Definitely stayed out in the sun too long 😂 (4,000+ years ago) Where we’ll all end up if we don’t stop pushing out greenhouse gases into our fragile atmosphere.

From the middle of the English Channel I get this. I think it’ll be the same on both sides now. And forever. 🍁 Let the trump moron try to build a wall across the middle of Lake ONTARIO 😡
