As part of the 2020 Nintendo Gigaleak, an email from Miyamoto to Rare was discovered outlining an idea for a change in Donkey Kong's character for his first fully 3D platforming game. This concept was ultimately scrapped, but the idea may have contributed to giving DK a weapon.

Warning: sound, eyestrain(?), AI slop I think telling AI to churn out the SonicRetro disassembly of Sonic 1 as a corrupted GBC ROM should instantly disqualify you from any favorable comparisons to Sonic 1 Genesis. Nevermind that this manages to look, sound and play worse than Sonic 1 Genesis.

Like they're either unaware or uncaring that it's just... slop. The concept of these ports (Mario Kart NES, Sonic Game Boy, etc.) probably sounds "impossible" to most, so naturally it *should* look like garbage in practice right?

Trying to rationalize all this only to end up insulting real developers and their decades of accomplishments on these platforms. Does that not say anything?

Not to single any one person out; so many YouTube comment sections for these slop ports are filled with "yooo this is amazeballs!!1!" and the gameplay is like an uncanny nightmare version.

An extremely unsatisfying fact about Super Mario Bros. Wonder is that the Wonder Flower that references Super Mario 64 by playing a remix of the Metallic Mario theme from that game... is the 65th Wonder Flower in the game, not the 64th.

My take on a potential Switch 2 modding scene is that if emulators get "written" for Switch 2 but don't use any Switch 2-specific features, then what's even the point. A Retroid or AYN is cheaper.

a cartoon directed by ben "bugs" hardaway had a model sheet with a rabbit labeled [bug's bunny], and this eventually became the name "bugs bunny" so what i am saying is that technically "bugs bunny" is a term like "frankenstein's monster"

Risking it saying it here but why do I see cuckcoders jumping to "IP abolition" as a defense of cuckcoding? Like we're gonna pretend these models don't/can't train on the work of indies, non-profits? That personally giving huge monthly payouts to tech billionaires is "going against the machine"?

Yes I'm sure everyone who contributed to projects like the SM64 decomp in their spare time are very pleased that Anthropic is making profit off their work. Now you can put Mario in Minecraft in Black Ops 2 and say the rights holders of all those series got really mad and pissed their pants and cried

This is the end goal of all decomp efforts. Not documentation, not preservation. But saying your very expensive toy that capitalism made is going to destroy capitalism.

Previously, we discussed how Jr. Pac-Man was going to be ported to Jakks Pacific's Super Pac-Man plug 'n play, and remnants of its data were hidden within the contents of the Retro Arcade Featuring Pac-Man unit. However, it just got discovered there's more than remnants; the entire game is intact.

Weirdly, this discovery was found in "Retro Arcade featuring Pac-Man" but the one time Jakks actually previewed Jr. Pac-Man, it was for their "Super Pac-Man Collection" unit instead.

you ever think about how the epstein files revealed that he played a hand in the current moral panic over trans people & it is directly related to epstein's sex trafficking ring and it didn't even get widely talked about so the moral panic didn't even stop for a day and just kept going

Yes OneyNG may or may not have "Played" with a minor but DingDong was literally FREAKING Gooning (those who know) to TUBA PORNO!? Erm, mentally ill degenerate much?! #Haha #Ha

Calling it "Pac-Man 1" I mean, you technically can but it just feels weird. This game's follow-ups were never numbered, and the one time they did attempt a "numbered sequel to Pac-Man" was a hail mary marketing stunt by Hometek, because Namco in Japan wanted to do fucked up point-and-click THINGS.
