The manosphere bro's like to talk about supply and demand and needing to be peak. And yet there is an endless supply of assholes out there you are competing with. Now, if you were *not* an absolute shithead, you'd have less to compete with. Simple as.

Never heard of this law before right this second but holy fuck if it does not 100% check out

I think the whole discord situation is kind of interesting, because just how much of a community darling they were. They fucked up once or twice, seems to have thought "The users stick around no matter what".

Currently doing an IBM. Shooting themselves in one foot, then aiming for the other one. It's not even like discord is that special. It's just IRC on steroids. Makes me wonder how much it would take to extend IRC to the point of feature parity.

Capitalism is a game that, while being abusive to all players, benefits its cheaters. Loopholes keep being found, and rules keep getting harsher because of that. AI is just the brand-new way to cheat at making money, the world is catching up, and everyone is all the more miserable because of that.

At dentist, broken tooth. They first manage to hit a nerve while giving me painkillers, then after drilling spend something like fifteen minutes trying to jam something between my teeth. Saying reassuring things like "technically impossible" and "i have never done this before".

Got called mansplaining in the context of something I literally work with by another transperson that then instantly blocked me :'). Aight, time to add pronouns and profession to my bio I guess :P.

I think a big chunk of the "linux is hard" sentiment stems from the fact that most linux users do weird things with their computers. basically this:

Compiling webkit in various configurations. On windows, it spits out a folder that (when the various .pdb's are deleted), compresses down to just ~20 megabytes. That's not terrible for small applications. Lots of errors if I squeeze it more though.

OK, so, unpopular opinion, it's OK to actually tell your take on your own convoluted story with an ambigous ending. Yes, people having their own theories is neat. And no, of course your artistic intent is important, and nobody should *force* you to tell the story.

But there is a bit of heartbreak there in learning that some artists literally delete parts of their own story to *make* it ambigous. Petscop, for instance, had large parts of it deleted to make it less clear. And for Teeny Toys, parts of the story is clear and some not.

Yes, I want to have theories. I also want to, at some point, know what went on inside the creators head. That much is selfish. But I also don't want the author to have to self censor forever, because that's heartbreaking as well.

use of generative AI is the late stage of giving up. gave up as an artist? use generative AI. gave up as a musician? use generative AI. gave up as a business? use generative AI. maybe it even works well for you, but you're not gonna shake the fact that in order to get there, you gave up.

Recompiled chromium because I want to experiment with making it smaller via stubbing things like the video library. 300mb to lug around for my small application is a bit much. The installer it spat out after a days worth of compile time is 700mb.

Pondering setting up a 'Scan a tango' gofund me, for a full body MRI, where I CC0 the scan data. OpenWoman(tm). Maybe a genome sequencing as well? ;). In the waiting queue for a smaller, much more narrow scan(tumor checking), and it can take a couple of months.

Problem of course being figuring out how a scan like that would take place, and what data you actually get from it. Most full body MRI scans I see on the market seems to just be a collection of smaller scans.

Unpopular opinion: It's fine to try things you expect you won't enjoy due to curiosity. We don't call you a spice fanatic because you tried the one chip challenge once. Suck that dick if you think it'll be an experience. Ain't gay for that. (brought to you by stupid facebook discource)
