I have a long night in front of me. But for those asking how to stay informed about Trump's latest attack on voting and the legal cases that will follow, my advice is to subscribe to Democracy Docket. I started it for times just like this. bit.ly/4qmEiFz

I have experienced similar pile-ons when my summary of a court's holding was mistaken for my personal view on the matter. This insistence on stripping a post of context then imputing bad faith is making BlueSky unusable for legal reporting. Today's incident shows that the problem is getting worse.

Fascism expert Tim Snyder on Why Mass Protests matter: PROTEST CHANGES THE ATMOSPHERE For authoritarians to win, they need their supporters to be active, the majority to be silent, & their actions to seem normal. Protest shows their supporters are the minority, & the majority WILL NOT BE SILENT. 🧵

Legacy media is failing democracy. Rather than complain, I did something about. Six years ago I started Democracy Docket from scratch. Now it has more than 400,000 subscribers. But to help protect democracy, it needs to grow and scale. Subscribing now. bit.ly/4qmEiFz

Now feels like a good time to remember that Big Oil is the reason why we're still hooked on dirty, dangerous fossil fuels. The industry's lies have essentially stolen a generation’s worth of time that we could have used to transition to cleaner, safer energy sources. It’s time for accountability.

Just buying military loyalty. They never had it so good.

Kristi Noem has done a stunning amount of damage and it’s good she’s gone. But this doesn’t change the fact that we need a complete overhaul of DHS, impartial investigations into the killings of two American citizens, and information on children that were taken from Minnesota.

Alex Pretti and Renée Good were murdered by federal agents. Soon after, Secretary Noem labeled them 'domestic terrorists.’ I gave her the chance to recant and apologize for the pain she's caused their families with these outrageous lies. She refused.

We’re at the hyping the cool military toys phase of the war.

Marco Rubio: "You're about to see -- we're gonna unleash on these people over the next few hours and days. You're gonna really begin to perceive a change in the scope and in the intensity of these attacks as the two most powerful air forces in the world take apart this terroristic regime."

Washington speaking post war about Continental Army Officers.“Happy, thrice happy shall they be pronounced hereafter … in erecting this stupendous fabric of freedom and empire on the broad basis of independence… and establishing an asylum for the poor and oppressed of all nations and religions.”

Musk identifying American culture as English, Scotch, and Irish derived ignores not just African and Indigenous cultures, but the French influence in Louisiana and the Spanish influence in Fla, Texas, and Calif., et al. Who made him culture czar?

We must speak plainly about the agenda Elon Musk & other MAGA leaders are pushing. It’s white nationalism. There’s no room for Black, Hispanic/Latino, Asian, Native, Jewish or all other Americans in Musk’s monocultural vision. Multiculturalism is superior. We can’t allow Musk & others to end it.
