Re-upping my Substack review on AOR with a mention of Donnie Iris and to honor one of the first real music concerts I attended (SRO!) when he opened for Hall & Oates on the Private Eyes tour.
New Substack post: If you belong to the generation of siblings or kids – or, more precisely, those who occasionally snark at any one of a half dozen cringey "Yacht Rock" definitions – then, my friend, this category isn't for you. From @cherryredrecords.bsky.social

For decades a mill supplying large U.S. tissue companies has severely polluted rivers around Grassy Narrows in Canada’s boreal region, causing lasting health impacts and widespread harm to Indigenous Peoples, with no end in sight. This is unconscionable. https://on.nrdc.org/3VQgUXw

OK... so you might have seen @mchshe.bsky.social and Linus Roache discuss their long ago collaboration/grappling via the @welshnattheatre.bsky.social video. That production was the LE LIVRE de SPENCER at the Odéon-Théâtre de l'Europe in Paris in 1994.
@welshnattheatre.bsky.social has announced that Owain & Henry will be available starting March 1, 2027 to stream on National Theatre at Home 🔥

Lucy Harrison from Awel Aman Tawe, (a community energy charity) speaks of the overwhelming reasons why Port Talbot should be the #UKCityofCulture in 2028. 🧡 I'm sure @nptcouncil.bsky.social would agree 👍
My friend (and fellow former Q Magazine writer) Dominic Utton has a fantastic UK website dedicated to meaningful music merch. Stop by and give it a look. As it says, believe in what you wear!

There's no need to fear...UNDERDOG is back in the Macy's Parade for the first time in 40+ years! Universal is spending $ on this, so I hope it means we'll see the character in something new soon in the US. (There's already an animated reboot in Europe). abc7ny.com/post/2026-ma... #TVSky #animation

"Last month, the EPA quietly changed wording on its website that claimed Pfoa and Pfos had been phased out. In fact, both have been produced in the US this whole time, and at levels that independent science suggest are quite high." #PFAs

Another school shooting in America today. It doesn't have to be this way.
Three little kids and a teacher were shot and killed at their school today in Bend, Oregon. Two more were injured. Our hearts are broken and we’re angry. It’s disgraceful that extremists keep blocking critical, lifesaving laws while kids die in their classrooms. America can do better. It must.
Well then. You understand that this demands a companion article on my Substack for Michael “I went BLONDE!” Sheen 😆
I just won an auction for a programme from David Tennant’s 2001 production of 'Comedians'. It’s only the second one I’ve seen come up in over a decade, so I bid big. And I won! AAAAAH! So of COURSE I had to write a post about his hair! 🪮

New Substack: The shift from Starfish and Gold Afternoon Fix to Priest=Aura might prove interesting even after a brief earful. I’d be diplomatic to say it’s mystifying, while Willson-Piper was more forthright in that “everybody seems to think that they like it, but that it’s a difficult record.”
