No joke. I think this is the most important video I have ever seen about mobile games. This guy breaks down how this game psychologically profiles you, and makes the game harder or easier in order to show you ads

Thought experiment: imagine if the Democratic party sent every American adult a $6000 check right now (I know they can't/won't, but imagine if they did). You know, without a doubt, a certain someone would call them cheaters for doing so.

Even LLMs that don't always remember that certain salutes and phrases are unacceptable have a general understanding that morons aren't great leaders, and have no trouble putting together a coherent recommendation for qualified, non-controversial candidates

Grabbed the page of the proceedings that jumped out to me most. Not making a statement about the user's actions but it's good to be aware of what level of confidentiality you can expect (or not) in a given space. I encourage everyone who values privacy and rights to read and understand this page.

Hey @bsky.app - I've noticed you put profiles in my "suggested for you" section after I've clicked on their profile. Maybe that's not the best practice. Many times, I click on a profile specifically to see whether I'm following them or not, for the purpose of unfollowing before I block and report.

I can't count the number of times I've seen someone in "suggested for you" after blocking them. Maybe have the trigger for appearing there be a like instead of a profile view. Also that section should be sideways-scrollable, but it functionally isn't. Why else can I see it's a queue?

In Battlestar Galactica, there's a rule that pilots may not use automated landing. They must land manually. Commander Adama ordered this to keep pilots from getting lazy; if you can't even land in a hangar, you have no business being a fighter pilot. *Glances at people who use AI to do basic tasks*

I wonder what sort of legal action follows a wedding cake face-smash death. Like, is the defendant familiar with cakes having sticks in them, thus opening up the door to a pre-meditated murder charge, or does the court have to examine whether you're enough of a dumb bitch to settle for manslaughter

the thing about trans rights is that we fight the civil rights issues of our time. nazi chuds have made this the issue of our time. it's not more *important* than other civil rights issues, but it is the battleground of the moment, and we have to meet the moment to support everyone's rights.

Luke O'Neil@lukeoneil47.bsky.social

Centrists bigots and right wingers have this all backward. YOU are the ones constantly bringing up trans issues. I would be happy to not think about this shit every day of my life unless I was talking to or reading something by one of my trans friends and thought of it in passing. SHUT THE FUCK UP

AI filmmaking is peeing. It’s pooping. It’s throwing up. It’s a new kind of liquid coming out. It’s hated by the establishment. It’s what goes in the toilet. It’s wet. It’s what’s in the bathroom.

The creators explained the real-world reason of wanting the colors present in those proportions to keep the eye engaged while not adding more time-consuming detail than necessary, but I never caught if there was an in-universe reason given

People like to paint this romantic picture of WWII men as level-headed dutiful family men, and I'm sure you could find examples, but I wonder if our perception of this as THE NORM is a bit of rose-tinted glasses fallacy. Maybe there were tons of racist, moronic, traitorous asswipes in the '40s, too.

I heard this quote in the Ms. Marvel TV show and it really struck me. Apparently it's straight outta the comic books. Anyway, current events made me think of it. Lots of people out there with a "we're the good guys" mindset... well, prove it, with your actions.

Imagine you’re on the Titanic. You see the boat hit the iceberg. You know there aren’t enough lifeboats. Do you: A) Get as many people into lifeboats as you can, understanding that the situation sucks, or B) Set all the lifeboats on fire in protest? This is a metaphor.

When a man is attracted to women, we call that straight. When a woman is attracted to women, we call that gay. But, like, it's the same thing. In their brains, the same thing is going on, attraction to women. So why do we call it different names? Why should our bodies affect attraction nomenclature?
