HOWEVER MY TWO CENTS!!! killing off characters so frequently gives 2 vibes. 1) writers who don’t know how to continue their story meaningfully + feels like they’re not confident in their writing

when i was younger i never knew how to continue a story of an oc or how to face my burnout other than kill them and thats what im feeling here its like when a show runs for too long and everyone has to die or become evil

i’ve never been super attached to a lot of the big lore characters because…blizzard… but i would feel so funky if life is as stressful as it is these days and i log on to find out my favorite characters have died LMFAO however this is how i feel about wow as a whole, its just disappointing lately

2) fans are playing to enjoy a story and lore and the characters they’ve grown to love, it feels weird and strange to bring disappointment and heartbreak so frequently while we’re all facing it so consistently with everything happening in the irl world

i’ve always loved the rp community for this reason though, we create our own stories to engage with and our own campaigns so my little oc’s are way more focused on what is happening in their life vs the most recent azeroth celebrity death to hit the tabloids
