“We need datacentres in Australia”. Also, “We need bigger and better datacentres to defend ourselves against the datacentres we just built” This will all go so well.

The no rules #NACC is one of the biggest and costly failures of the @australianlabor.bsky.social government. #auspol
Shoebridge shreds NACC CEO Philip Reed after FOI reveals another conflict of interest breach where he let the new Acting Dep Commissioner improperly sit on a panel—a day after new rules were set Reed says it wasn’t his job to call it out as he was “not chairing the meeting”🤦♂️ffs

I know everyone is freaking out about smart glasses (especially the cameras), but I find the tech applications genuinely interesting.

Live executions - will we get bullet cam? FPV? A snick-ometer? Slow motion replays? The mind boggles at the inanity and cruelty.

"America’s military saturation of Australia is a direct threat to Australian sovereignty – not as an abstract word in a treaty, but as the ordinary right of people in this country to decide what is done in their name, on their land, and with their lives."
Holy hell. "The count is stark: the US military controls 17 facilities on the mainland and has access to 75 more Australian-run installations. American defence corporations reach a further 18." Australian sovereignty is DEAD. asenseofplacemagazine.substack.com/p/australia-...

Penny Wong has had 24 hours, but still nothing. No statement of concern, no raised eyebrow... and no late signing of this very reasonable joint statement of foreign ministers. The Australian govt's craven failure to say [let alone do] anything critical of the Trump regime is humiliating. #auspol
NEWS: Eight major U.S. allies—including Canada, the UK, France, Germany, Italy, and Japan—have issued a joint rebuke of the Trump regime’s sweeping sanctions on the International Criminal Court. They vow “unwavering support” for the ICC’s independence.

Friends, while they're trying to talk about fictional machine gods, don't lose sight into what they're all actually powering in real life. You can browse the the entities on the website and use the API, and learn more about it on the DAIR project site: dair-institute.org/projects/sur....

In other words … they will continue to police themselves the same way they did before they hacked Australia’s Medicare system. Good to know.
Sadly hoping Chris Minns gets hit by a couple of e-motorbikes and finally gets some sense knocked into his govt about the need to tackle the issues.

(2/2) The problem is STRUCTURAL - the RBA has a hammer when it needs a screwdriver. The obvious disconnect between the CAUSE of inflation and its REMEDY should be addressed by govt. Sadly, self-proclaimed working class hero Albo is asleep at the wheel as workers' pay devalues & cost of living soars.
For those with short memories, they ALWAYS announce new flights & aircraft with social zones, lounge areas etc. A couple of months after everyone has forgotten, those spaces are replaced with as many seats as will fit.

The European Union is tightening the regulatory backdoor through which US automakers have been quietly importing around 7k large SUVs and pickup trucks/year. “The revised rules, expected to launch in 2027, are designed to close loopholes that Brussels says allow unsafe vehicles onto European roads.”
