its like this all the time when making stuff for ttrpgs. Im so alarmed when I make stuff for video games because everyone is way nicer and way less dense.

The advice I've heard is "would you be happy doing what you're doing RIGHT NOW forever?" If the answer is no, then, like, maybe you're pursuing something other than the artform, y'know?

I think taking kitchen sink fantasy as-is and slapping it into a new setting is inherently anachronistic and doesn't even work as a "gimmick." To approach fantasy in a unique setting you have to approach fantasy in a unique way. This is what separates a good setting from an annoying one.

This is just kinda funny at this point.
