Due to spambots, it's apparently a good idea to tell people you're human now. I'm human! Trans men are men. Trans women are women. Both deserve love. Love is love. Vaccines save lives. Kindness is intelligent. Democrats ain't perfect but they're better than fascists. I love cats. That's a start.

FLASHBACK: A reminder that not every policy difference is based on malice, and not every change in policy between first draft and final implementation is hypocritical: acasignups.net/21/06/17/bla...

acasignups.netBlast from the Past: Campaign Rhetoric vs. Policy Reality, a study in ironyShoutout to James Medlock for digging up this relic from the 2008 Presidential primariy race: A lit piece from then-Senator Barack Obama's campaign slamming then-Senator Hillary Clinton over her insistence on her proposed healthcare policy bill including an Individual Mandate Penalty. How many Republican talking points can you spot below? There's a lot going on here. For starters, the couple on the first page are basically 2008 versions of "Harry & Louise"...it's a white, middle-age, middle-class suburban couple poring over their finances. Considering that the 1993 "Hillarycare" proposal was destroyed in large part due to the health insurance lobby's successful series of Harry & Louise "there's got to be a better way" ads, Obama using this same tactic had to sting. Second, the "...even if you can't afford it" slam is included no fewer than five times. I'm pretty sure Hillary's 2008 primary campaign proposal included some sort of affordability waiver (the final version of the ACA lets you off the hook if the lowest-price ACA-compliant policy costs more than 8.3% of your household income), in which case the "even if you can't afford it" attack was either false or at least disingenuous depending on your point of view.

Pushback works, part gazillion: "Here are the facts: DOGE moved forward with plans to close multiple field offices. Then, without public notice or explanation, they reversed their plans. Now they are trying to pretend like they were never planning to close the offices." popular.info/p/how-the-so...

popular.infoHow the Social Security Administration and DOGE are gaslighting AmericansThe Social Security Administration (SSA) sent an email on March 27 to beneficiaries saying that reports that field offices were closing was an invention of fake news media.

BREAKING: Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear reveals that DOGE’s “efficiency” screws 700,000 Kentucky seniors and threatens healthcare for fired federal employees. Watch this and share so EVERY American sees what a disaster this is.

Honestly not really fond of posting anything from a billionaire, but I'll make an exception here.

The administration is removing phone support for Soc Security recipients. Making it more difficult for seniors to get their checks. It’s a back door way to cut SS benefits. Horrific. If you know anyone who is impacted, please help them get online to get their benefits approved

I'd like to bring this video to your attention. www.youtube.com/watch?v=hyco... It's doing pretty significant numbers for what it is, so while I understand sharing it won't make a difference for those knee-deep in the cult of personality, I'd say it has a better-than-average chance of resonating.

This is Marco Rubio explaining how the USA promised to defend Ukraine forever if they got rid of their nuclear arsenal left after the Soviet Union fell. This is why lil marco was sinking into the couch. He was hoping we wouldn’t find it…so don’t RT right now this very second.

James. Fucking. Carville may be the worst thing that has ever happened to democrats. And the lingering belief that he is some kind of master tactician is still serving Republicans every day. Which is exactly why the NYT is so anxious to publish his “roll over and play dead” strategy.

🚨NEW: Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth is planning to fire Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff C.Q. Brown, a 4-Star General and 41-year veteran of the Air Force who flew over 130 hours in combat as a fighter pilot. REPOST if you stand with General C.Q. Brown against Hegseth!

It has a simple but beguiling art style, a gentle opening chapter with swiftly ramping difficulty after that, and a delightful unlock progression. It's deeply enjoyable to play, and embraces controller players as well as KBM. Enemy variety and behavior is relatively simple, but allows depth. (more)

The loop is classic roguelike - fight enemies, unlock stuff, get stronger, repeat. If you enjoy the type, I think you'll be happy. It is considerably easier (positively chill) compared to Risk 2 and Crab Champs, but sometimes that's kinda the ticket. Most of all, it's just neat and fun. TFR!

IMO, here's the funny thing about SPN (Supernatural): End of the day, it does the exact same thing as some of the oldest myths - portrays ultra-powerful beings as human, with all our vanities, frailties and failings.

Can't believe I just thought of this. During Hillary Clinton's campaign in 2015-16, one of the most common criticisms of her I heard was, "inauthenticity." And during VP Harris' campaign, I remember hearing a lot of that same slam, especially from our "allies," like The Bulwark. Kinda curious, huh?

You are up to date.
