If Midsommar had sea monsters, it would give you something akin to Reliquary. Spooky season needs met. This local author’s imagination and the way she weaves stories together never cease to amaze me. #Nashville #booksky

I‘m not much of a TV person at all (give me all the #books in preference), but I love #reading horror #books before viewing. Enter the new Carrie series. Read King book. Loved. Viewed original movie. Loved. New series. Kind of love, but definitely appreciate the modern context. Worth viewing.

I decided to do my run at the park this morning before Goodfest, and I’m so glad I did! The park was packed by the time I was done running and walking around the festival. Moss Wright is such a good space for it, though! #running #nashville

Head of security at Opry Mills reveals that they use LPR to notify repo companies when mall visitors are behind on their car payments. “3 or 4 people a week” come to him saying their car was stolen when in reality the mall had tipped off the repo company and gotten it taken.

Don’t just be proud of voting (but still be proud). Be smart about it. Pay attention. Take your time to review before submitting.

🗳️ Stella Parton (Dolly’s Sister) is among the Tennesseans reporting voting machines tried to flip her @jerrigreen4tn.bsky.social vote to Marsha Blackburn🤔😕 www.instagram.com/p/DewwVI9ERq...

The Southern Festival of Books was a success! So many great vendors, so many great authors, and just all around fun! I was most impressed by Ruta Sepetys. Her signing line was insanely long, and she stayed after the festival ended to sign them all! She must be a genuinely nice person. 📚💙

If you enjoy creepy and kooky theater, Studio Tenn is performing The Addams Family at Turner Theater in Franklin, #Tennessee now through October 25. The breaking the 4th wall moments are particularly enjoyable.

The Southern Festival of Books is this weekend!!! I love this festival! It includes book vendors, author talks, book signings, food trucks, the #Nashville Puppet Truck, and more! 📚💙

Our coverage of the Southern Festival of Books — Oct. 17-18 at Bicentennial Park — includes reviews of the new book by Barbara Kingsolver and a Whitney Houston biography.

Halloween races are some of my favorites to run because of the costumes! I’ve got mine ready for the next one! What are your favorite costumes to see in a Halloween race? I’ve seen a Forrest Gump at every one, and it makes me laugh every time. 😊 #runsky

Today in #Nashville: Oktoberfest at Bicentennial and Celebrate Nashville at Centennial! There‘s nothing quite like a 9am bier to celebrate crossing the finish line followed by empanadas and African dancing! #running

This was pretty cool. The LST-325 is in Ashland City, #Tennessee right now and heading to Clarksville next. It was crowded in parts, so I took pics of the info to read more carefully later. That worked well.

The story is bigger than CNN, MSNOW, & Politico being banned. Hate is actively being welcomed in their place.

While CNN, MSNOW, and Politico are being locked out of the White House, who is being let in? My latest post examines the outlet with documented ties to white nationalist figures—and what this shift means for government accountability. Read the full breakdown below.

#Running is primarily a solo sport. If you volunteer, you get to connect to your fellow runners. Waving at a familiar face, greeting someone by name, giving hugs, and asking about previously mentioned health concerns have all come about through volunteering at races. Distance isn’t everything.

Omg it might actually be worth braving downtown on a Friday night next weekend! 😱

Nashville is working “9 to 5” a little differently on 9/25. 🦋 Friday, September 25th, is officially Dolly Day, a citywide celebration of Dolly Parton’s life and legacy. Wear pink, give back, and spread some kindness in her honor. #DollyDayNashville Find ways to join in: visitmusiccity.com/dollyday

The vibe for this race was incredible! #Runners cheering for each other, yelling, « Do it for Dolly! » 🎶 9to5 revving us up at the start line. Imagination Library handing out #books. 📚 Glitter and rhinestones everywhere. ✨ Butterfly wings galore. 🦋 #Nashville did her proud. #running #booksky #dolly

Another local author is Ariel Lawhon. Her new book “The Pirate Queen” comes out soon! It’s inspired by the story of Grace O’Malley! I love Lawhon’s books and can’t wait! #Nashville #Tennessee #booksky

This guys is just another domino in the inevitable falling of bad things for middle #Tennessee libraries. Same commissioners who appointed a grossly under-qualified Riley Gaines. I heard her speak at a meeting. Clueless. It‘s time for a leadership change. #vote #booksky www.wkrn.com/news/local-n...

I won’t pretend I don’t understand them being excited about new jobs. Adams really doesn’t have many options. If they welcome opportunities, though, surely something (anything) better than #ICE could see the opportunity?

We are likely (hopefully) on the verge of another great cultural shift. As we interact with those who are waking up to reality, it may help to gain some perspective. Books by Tia Levings and podcasts like “Was I in a Cult” are potential places to start. #booksky

I had the best time at #eastnashville Tomato Fest today! I think Sharknado was my favorite part of the parade. And shout out to the lady offering her hose for runners to go through at the 5k! That helped so much! #running #nashville

Several middle TN counties managed to flip seats! It’s not much (yet!), but every little bit counts! Now to deal with Marsha… 🤔

The Tennessee Holler @thetnholler.bsky.social

Per @tnyoungdems.bsky.social prez Trent Benge — RUTHERFORD COUNTY just elected Brendan Doughtie to the county commission, flipping the seat and making him the youngest commissioner ever. And in Sumner, Young Dem Rory Edmonds won a commission seat.

I love these stories so much!!! #nashville
