Will Venable won the Sporting News' Manager of the Year award. If precedent holds, he's likely to win the BBWAA award next month, but he may also have to announce his own firing after next season.
Every year, there's at least one White Sox player who I specifically file away for @tedsox31.bsky.social's year-end Sporcle because I know I'd have no reason to remember him otherwise. Doug Nikhazy, we salute you. youtu.be/92ESUY9puvA?...
For years, the White Sox could more or less swap out a third of their 40-man roster without a whole lot of thought. This year will require more consideration.

Today on @soxmachine.com Will Venable has been preaching for a couple of seasons his hitters have to be better against the fastball. So I dove into the numbers and any big improvements team-wise has to start with the big boppers. For subscribers: soxmachine.com/2026/10/whit...

Getting knocked out of playoffs sucked, but @soxmachine.com Jim nails it here… “great way to spend the summer.”

If the White Sox are concerned about neutralizing Cleveland's lefties, then Erick Fedde looks like White Sox's best available bet for bulk innings tonight, even if he's a righty.
Game 4 is Game 17 and Game 1 at the same time. It makes sense, kinda. Livestream starts in five minutes.

Pregame show, lineups, pitching plans (or lacks thereof). All here.
It's been 120 years since the White Sox played the good kind of postseason elimination game at home.
The White Sox are up 2-0 after their 4-3 victory in Game 2, and here are some takeaways from Monday including Braden Montgomery hunting what he could handle, Cleveland's starting pitching edge disappearing, and Sam Antonacci surviving in left.
First crack at the recap is up, livestream coming shortly.
Some pregame notes to go with the pregame livestream, including a real tale of two cities with regards to postseason ticket demand.

One big reason the White Sox are 3-0 this postseason: Their lefty hitters are hitting lefty pitchers.

I'm not used to the White Sox still playing a week into October, so let's use a postseason off day to discuss a couple of typical offseason topics -- salary projections and the future of the broadcast booth.

As it turns out, Tommy Pham only hit the day's second-most debatable fly ball that Statcast failed to clarify entirely.
The White Sox used fewer pitchers than the Guardians in Game 1, which wasn't supposed to happen with Parker Messick starting against a bullpen game. Then again, Grant Taylor wasn't supposed to handle the final four innings himself.
Game 1 between the White Sox and Guardians is really Game 14 between the White Sox and Guardians.
