I was at the grocery store and saw the Cinnamon Toast Crunch boxes. Looks awful. What kind of fucked up kid do you have to be to see that and go "I wanna put that in my mouth"?

Fuckin' got em, dude. Maybe next time Mr. Fielder makes a "documentary" he'll strive to emulate 60 Minutes instead of uhhh Gone In 60 Seconds (heist movie with fictional plot, very entertaining but with no basis in reality).

“'You Can See Everything' is a hilarious, thrilling, fascinating, beautiful piece of art. What it certainly is not is a documentary, and it’s dangerous to pretend that it is,” writes Theranos whistleblower Tyler Shultz. https://bit.ly/4Bk2nDJ

For centuries, mankind has been obsessed with Squirting The Circle. The well-known constant "πss" was discovered from this endeavor, and represents the ratio of liquid inside a circle to the liquid in the entire square.

I run a side hustle/persona as a strategically platonic companion who will introduce himself to your friends as a "drone sculptor" and "atonally rad." And then he presses some buttons on the giant SBC enclosure hanging off his keychain to produce what he calls "soundcore."

The phrase "drone sculptor" popped into my head and I could only think of two definitions: (a) someone who uses drones to make sculpture (b) someone who produces music with oscillators, tone generators, other analog electronics

My first thought when I saw the Corridor Digital machine learning chroma key software was that I hope Neil Breen sees it and uses it on his future work.

Next time you see someone posting "LinkedIn" style prose, imagine it being read by Jackie Earle Haley as Rorschach in the Watchmen movie.

Go! My Creations! is DONE After a year of design and testing, my new RPG is out and available! All artwork is by the incredible @infinitebrians.neocities.org (check him out). My print order is in the works, and I'll be debuting the physical edition at MAGfest! greenintern.itch.io/go-my-creati...

One thing I really appreciate in Control: Resonant is that they don't force you to have an active quest. It doesn't auto-select one if you complete another one. There's a faint reminder text that's easy to ignore, so I don't really mind it.

The most commented and controversial post in our local subreddit is a picture of cyclists on a narrow rural backroad with the OP complaining about it. Commenters desperately (and incorrectly) citing state law, getting legit emotional. Why do cyclists sharing a road make people so mad?

Name's Bond, the murder guy James! James! James! James! James! Spying rules James! James! James! James! James! Shaken is a property of martini

I just spent 8 hours on a customer call for an emergency and I get to wake up and do it all again tomorrow. My first on-call situation with this team (it's been years) and it's worse than any I've seen other team members handle. Windows and AD in particular can suck all the turds out of my butthole

Anyway, enough smooth jazz posting. Rainforest was the start of a musical journey for me that looks something like Rainforest → Ministry of Sound → Mylo → Rex The Dog → The Magician → "indie dance genre" → disco edits scene And I've been marinating in the latter part of that sequence for 15 years.

The three acts I posted above seem to be 100% smooth jazz acts, but many of the standard tracks were made by musicians that also did more ... challenging? music that just never got playtime on these stations. Ex: - Chick Corea - Grover Washington Jr - Herbie Hancock - Lee Ritenour - Joe Sample

Smooth Jazz was my gateway to a lot of better music. There wasn't enough soft jazzy rock out there, so they had to bulk up their libraries with classic R&B, Soul, etc (e.g. Marvin Gaye) as well as pop jazz like Brubeck's Take Five or George Benson's Give Me The Night.

I recorded tracks I liked from the radio onto tapes and played them until the tapes literally wore out. Fuck cassette tapes, seriously. Garbage format. But they were all we had, and they did technically work.

Paul Hardcastle eventually transitioned to smooth jazz, and in the 80s and 90s there were smooth jazz radio stations (e.g. WJZW and KKSF) that played his music. But *very* rarely, they'd play Rainforest. A special little treat for me. Rarer than Steely Dan's Josie or Fagen's I.G.Y. I was hooked.

I think it's safe to say that Rainforest was what introduced me to electronic music. I had no way to get more of that sound or even know what it was until around high school when Napster and its descendants made music easier to explore.

I went out a couple weeks ago on a windy and cloudy day to finish the last of my roll of Velvia 50 with some macro photography. Horrible idea on paper, but that's what I felt like doing. Anyway, they mysteriously came out great.

I have been Spooked! A large-ish pumpkin appeared on my porch today. Undecorated, unadorned. No other houses nearby have pumpkins. In the event it's a thief thing I have moved it from one side of the porch to the other. I hope it's an honest mistake.
