Kavin Narke - Space Mage Press | Open for line editing

Effective July 1st, my rate will be increasing. If you have a retainer paid on a project prior to that date, you will not be affected by the increase for that project. Any project booked on or after July 1st will be at my new rate.

Good morning, Blue Sky. I would love to get the chance to do a sample edit or two today. Hit me up if you have a manuscript that'll need line edits soon

Authors, I've got availability for line edits for next year, and you have a manuscript that needs editing! Let's make magic happen. Get in touch!

I hate editor Halloween, what do you mean you're going as a ghosted sample edit?

Man, my consultation form is deader than Mitch McConnell. To all you editors that are actually managing to get bookings for next year, I envy you, and may you have a fruitful year of new and returning clients

I'm on deadline today and low-key stressing out. When I set the 14th as the deadline for this job, I thought it was Thursday. Didn't realize until yesterday that it was today 😩

Hey gay boys writing about gay boys, I am also a gay boy writing about gay boys, and I want to edit your books! I've got over 2 years experience as a book editor, and 2026 was the first year I got to edit a book about queer men. I want to make 2027 my gayest year yet, so let's get your edits booked!

2027 slots are open! January March April May June July September October November December Now is the time to lock in your editor for your manuscript!

If you are a fan of dark fantasy, then you'll want to make sure you sign up for the Kickstarter when it launches later this year

Desk is set up and ready for another productive day of book editing

Damn, apparently book editing costs 10k now? I am MASSIVELY undercharging then! Not changing my rates though, so 🤷‍♂️

Rainy days like today are my favorite days to lock myself in my office and hammer away at client work. The vibes are just immaculate #bookeditor #author #scifi #fantasy

So clearly I need to book more sci-fi gigs

Genres I've edited: Epic fantasy Historical fantasy Historical horror Fantasy romance Dark fantasy Adventure sci-fi Comedic sci-fi Contemporary romance

I got so much reading done on the way to Des Moines and back yesterday Finishing up the Rain Wild Chronicles after starting it last year

Who's prepping to release a book in 2027?

Challenge yourself by reading through at least 1 book a year that you really want to DNF. You never know how you'll feel about it in the end.

Current read: Carl's Doomsday Scenario by Matt Dinniman Next read: Scion by James Islington

The algo showed you this post because you're an author of sci-fi and/or fantasy that needs to start finding an editor. The algo showed you this post so you could meet me, your future potential new editor. Hi. What's up

My next electricity bill just came in and it's $530. Super cool, def not freaking out about that Anyway, unrelated but I am currently booking for my 2027 slots. Do yourself a favor and plan ahead, book your line editor this weekend. I have nearly all my slots still available

2 months are already claimed. Let's get the other 10 taken care of! Space Mage Press is now booking line edits for 2027

Recently found out I was duped into editing an AI generated manuscript. Trying not to beat myself up over it, while making changes to ensure it doesn't happen again. A new section has been added to my consultation form emphasizing my stance on the matter.

Guess who is officially booked for the rest of the year!! Not gonna lie, didn't think that would happen, but I'm so excited that it did. I appreciate all the awesome authors that are taking a chance on me

Way too many people are comfortable sitting in the middle

Happy PRIDE!! The first PRIDE was a riot. Be glad we only do parades now

Should probably update my pinned post at some point, huh

I'm glad my plan to focus on just one social media platform instead of trying to spread across three has been working out. I've had a ton more fun on Thr3ads the past month than I ever did on Tw1tt3r

I've got 2 of my next 3 manuscripts in my email already. I'm going to have a busy next few months, and couldn't be happier about it

Seeing a lot of authors I thought were respectable using AI to promote their books. Truly disappointing.

Authors, PLEASE stop ghosting the freelance professionals you reach out to! If you're no longer interested in hiring our services PLEASE tell us so we can move on and fill the slot we were courting you for.

Today is Trans Day of Visibility, and it is important for us LGB's to remember we wouldn't have gotten to marriage equality in 2015 if it wasn't for the decades of fighting led by the T's. Community doesn't throw each other under the bus. Stand together.

Been wondering why I've been smelling smoke the last couple days, then last night remembered that half my state is on fire right now and the federal government is silent about it

If I ever spell the word rhythm correctly on the first try I know I need to go buy a lottery ticket because that'll be my lucky day

Oh hey, the vampire book crossed the 10k word mark and I didn't even notice. Coolio

When I'm not playing Pokopia and Metroid Prime 4, I'm editing sci-fi and fantasy books

I really want to start writing the werewolf book but I'm not even 10k words into the vampire one AND still have a whole ass Norse fantasy to finish

The client book I'm editing right now is so raw and honest. I'm really enjoying it. It's definitely going to be a hit if its audience is able to find it when it releases.

Buying Pokopia was the dumbest thing I've done in a while because how am I supposed to work when I could be playing Minecraft with Bulbasaur?
