age thirteen i wrote in my composition "the children were delighted to discover that they would be to receive a prize". teacher corrected "would be" to "were". but to this day i feel my own version was a stylistic choice rather than a grammatical error.

content aside, UK user personal observation. first time i've personally seen the hash mark # sometimes known in US as the pound sign (eg. US voicemail), actually used to indicate lbs.

So this story is WAY wilder than I thought The Trump post I flagged this morning because it includes Natalie Harp is actually based on the Getty photo you can see below. But there is one key difference -- MONICA CROWLEY'S FACE HAS BEEN EDITED TO LOOK LIKE NATALIE HARP'S WTF is going on here?

another pic of leading lady looking uncomfortable with Hitchcock

“Hitchcock was so inventive, and so well prepared, and knew exactly what he wanted to get in a scene.” — Jimmy Stewart REAR WINDOW (1954) is in Regal cinemas nationwide today. Tickets are $8 and some locations have as many as 5 shows. Spread the word! #FilmSky

schadenfreude perhaps. but China is racing ahead with robots in more ways than one - similarly renewable power.

The genre delivers exactly what we need: pure physical comedy, schadenfreude and a reassuring feeling of superiority. on.wsj.com/3UxS91I

756 miles over 3 days! Great and very busy weekend between @celtfest and Ludlow History Festival. A day off and then back to emails, planning, sketching, rehearsing, and preparing for next weekend's @goblintownfestivallarp #Storytelling #storyteller #storytellingforgrownups

London Blackfriars station led the way with solar in January 2014. 4,400 photovoltaic panels covering 6,000 square meters, generating roughly 900,000 kWh of electricity annually to supply half the station's energy.

AI and Amazon's SEO gone mad together. mrs and i looking into a recent spate of flies in our flat. i typed in "common species of fly UK" and guess what came first in the hits?!? Amazon trying to sell me flies!?! (as usual it doesn't even check first to see if what you are seeking is even available).

been on a course to study the music of #JohnColtrane. his compositions don't allow much room for the rhythm section. they're all about his improvisations. he was a genius and i love his music but looking at it from the inside was an oddly disappointing experience in certain respects.

friend of mine from school posted a sneary anti net zero comment on another platform. insight - i'm guessing - into what some Americans feel like when they realise members of their own family are pro you know who

Surely now, of ALL moments, the case for greater action on climate change is undeniable? It’s like a death cult! www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

just heard Eric Satie described as Symbolist. Debussy (i believe) preferred Symbolist to Impressionist. once saw a photo of Debussy and Satie at a party. looking at that picture and listening to their musics they seem pretty strange bedfellows in the same artistic movement. #SarahMorpietsch

" I just don’t get this idea that dreadful music is somehow cool and funny." sorry although i half like it and sometimes watch it and leaving boycotting aside that's the best comment on Eurovision ever.

David Clark@david-k-clark.bsky.social

I wish I could say that I’m boycotting Eurovision, but I never watch it because it’s shite. I just don’t get this idea that dreadful music is somehow cool and funny. I find it offensive and irritating.
