Some Place to Be is an actual play podcast dedicated to exploring how mechanics inform character and celebrating games by indie designers. Featuring an all queer cast of rotating GMs, we take the same characters and story into different TTRPGs each season.

this is the second entertaining musk ox video I've seen this week, after this clip where one gets in a scuffle with a pumpkin

trying to make 450 by the end of the week for bills, food, meds. bond has been paid. please help me.

Great ideas coming up in the listener community discord and I get to mentally be like oh that's a great idea to take note of or be like oh we're already cooking with that and which is which is a secret

Once upon a time layoffs were considered embarrassing for the company and leadership doing them. And I think we should bring that back.

What's a genre that you think Some Place to Be should mess around in? Or a genre we should do more of?

Happy #AceWeek again this year! We are an actual play podcast with 5 cast members on the ace spectrum! Come for the ttrpg book clubs, stay for the ever-evolving character dynamics!

Ngl I started adding fire motifs to Maeve in response to Avis becoming more openly ice aspected

I'm going to work soon and I would love to eat a lunch. Please help if you can.

This is such a fantastic photo: "The Witches' Tea Party" but I want to use it to explain the origin of the tall, pointy witches hat. The real story of this photo: These are residents at the Hospital of the Holy & Undivided Trinity: an almshouse in Castle Rising, Norfolk, England established 1610.

Here is a really cosy winter adventuring goblin

hi folks, this is all i have for the next two weeks please check my pinned, or the reply below, i really need the help to get through this month after paying bond and moving fees.

Listening the Death of the Magnate 4 on @genrespace.bsky.social and feeling this again. I love listening to players getting to stretch their legs as npcs in addition to playing their pcs during a campaign

It's really funny to me that the main way people advertise in bsky is by "following" It's too easy on bsky to mass follow hundreds of accounts at once

I've heard back from the mechanic looking at it, and have been informed the car needs to be scrapped. Please share this around if you can.

I feel like all the Bioware retrospectives have not yet dwelt enough on what an absolute watershed Femshep was in terms of female playable protagonists

Hey so if you’re looking for a Monsterhearts 2 actual play that gets dark, that delves into themes of intimacy and isolation, that has death, violence, and sex, but also has safety discussions on air, our group of trans and/or ace queers is currently releasing one:

I see people talking about sex scenes in actual play so it's as good a time as ever to tell you to try @someplacetobe.neocities.org Season 4 (and other seasons). These scenes don't go into much detail but they are happening and they're juicy, sometimes romantic, sometimes off-putting, go listen!

There's a reason why the company that produced a string of the best CRPGs ever made no longer exists as of today, and it's not because there's no demand for good CRPGs. It's because our economy has been whittled down to three industries: value extraction, gambling and fraud.

You should liste. To some place to be because it’s full of fun and cool people and their use of safety tools at the table is top tier

You should listen because we had a lot of action, drama, and fun in this campaign but also you should listen to this episode in particular to hear the sp2b season 3 trailer

It’s been a few months since I banged this drum, so here’s your reminder: - AP is a folk history and art - AP is born digital & will disappear unless preserved - You can preserve your show by following the checklist below & uploading to the Internet Archive - I’ll hype up your show if you do!💚
