SpielMas ⛄️ festival ➡️ Dec. 26-31

Join me between December 26-31 for the annual #SpielMas ⛄️ holiday festival. It celebrates the privilege we all have of playing tabletop games throughout the year with family and friends. #tabletopgames #boardgames

The first Tuesday in October for my online gaming group always brings out the spooky games on Board Game Arena. Like Hugo, which won a Frostie last year. What are some others you play? #boardgames

What will you play during #Solotober2026 ? Might I suggest #Popoki 🐈 from @haoleboygames.com Pōpoki: playingcards.io/@haoleboygam...

Spent the evening in Santa Cruz CA helping @themisplay.com promote their upcoming release “Under One Sky.” Follow on Kickstarter: www.kickstarter.com/projects/the... Hosted by @courtneylasch.bsky.social through her Game Night Collective (gamenightcollective.com). #boardgames

The designer of Fox Flip is a friend, so I’ve been able to playtest over the last year. It won’t be available in time for the next #SpielMas ⛄️ but your 2027 will be much more enjoyable if you back his campaign. #boardgames

Over at @haoleboygames.com I’m working to publish a combustive solo adventure for @gamemarketwest.bsky.social called Pōpoki. So I snuck in some ads for the annual #SpielMas ⛄️ festival on the box art. #Popoki 🐈 #boardgames

Got to camp at Limekiln State Park in Big Sur CA. It’s been closed for three years due to slides on Highway One. Played DNUP, Mojo, Knarr, and Waypoints. #boardgames

Crafting! Bottom template will include some marketing for #SpielMas ⛄️. For the rest of the design, check @haoleboygames.com for my upcoming solo game about a feral cat who walks across an active lava flow field in Hawai’i. #Popoki 🐈 #boardgames

First time teach/learn for all four players in SETI took SIX hours, but it was glorious. It’s the most I’ve committed to game in a long time. And yes, I did stare directly at the (LED) sun. #boardgames

My GenZ daughter is finding her love of #boardgames again while in college but on her own terms. It means sewing your own board, collecting found objects, and playing outside with friends. GenX approves!

So looking forward to seeing this crowdfund successfully after their visit to #GenCon this week. #boardgames KS: www.kickstarter.com/projects/the...

Ooh. We love an international #boardgames festival!

We played Hot Streak with new gamers, and it was a romp of a good time! #WhatDidYouPlayMonday #Boardgames

I feel like we should have played “Deep Regrets” from @tettix.bsky.social at this restaurant. #boardgames

Love Letter is back on Board Game Arena! ✍🏼👸🏻 #boardgames

Update: I was finally able to make reservations for August now that the park has opened back up since 4/1. It closed in January 2023 due to a slide on Highway 1.

Picked up “Otter” from @dylancoyle.bsky.social of Charming Games Collective at @gamemarketwest.bsky.social and couldn’t be more pleased after several three-person games. #boardgames BGG: boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/42...

Mahalo to RJ at Board Game Casual for letting me plug #SpielMas ⛄️ during @gamemarketwest.bsky.social in San Jose CA. #boardgames 🤙🏼 Scrubbing to 14:16!

Stop by @themisplay.com booth at @gamemarketwest.bsky.social and pick up a #SpielMas sticker. #boardgames

Big thanks for the follow from @redraccoongames.bsky.social! My Mom grew up on the South Side of Chicago in the 40’s, and I have good friends in Decatur, so this one is extra special for me. Looking forward to celebrating #SpielMas in southern Illinois!

TBH that two-sided diatom looks like a 🏈 #SuperBowl #SuperBowlSunday #boardgames @sabrinac.bsky.social @ludoliminal.bsky.social @25thcentury.games

What game would you play with friends or family this weekend if you weren’t watching the big HandEgg 🏈 game? #boardgames #SpielMas

Got to play “In The Footsteps of Darwin” by @sorrywearefrench.bsky.social at a game night this week, and loved it. Fast teach, quick to play, lovely art. But the mechanism of sailing the HMS Beagle around a 3x3 grid was so good. Can wait to get back out to sea again! #boardgames

I got to play a four-person demo of Sanibel by @elizhargrave.bsky.social while at @gamesantacruz.bsky.social. Lovely to look at, very fun to play, and a part of the world unfamiliar to me. It’s what #boardgames should do: Take you away for 45 minutes to discover something novel!

Vote this up! It would add the ability to zoom in on the board, as you can in many other games in BGA. Bug report: boardgamearena.com/bug?id=194867 #boardgames

Played 7 Wonders Dice on #BoardGameArena and loved it. Very fast, although the details of the board are difficult to see in mobile. It felt like “Welcome To…The Wonders!” #boardgames

Tried out the Duel mode for Symbiose and instantly wanted to improve on the randomness of the face-down cards in the river. We ultimately liked this “consult” variant: boardgamegeek.com/thread/35389... #boardgames

Got to play Tokaido and Harmonies at my first IRL game night of the new year. All in preparation for the next #SpielMas ⛄️ festival! #boardgames

The #SpielMas ⛄️ festival was born during a annual camping trip at Limekiln State Park during the summer of 2020, just south of this slide. We formed a bubble, played #boardgames, and celebrated our remarkable privilege in the face of a pandemic.

Because of the generosity of Rio Grande Games during #Spielmas ⛄️, I have six sets of these titles to donate to a game group in the SF Bay Area to add to their library. Let me know if I can drive to your cafe/brewery where you play! #boardgames

I so appreciate your celebration, and your #SpielMas ⛄️ display full of pieces is proof of a festive time. FYI I see games from @marcelineleiman.bsky.social and @stonemaiergames.com in that stack!

on the sixth day of #spielmas I worked on New Years Eve. So I played games on my phone all evening!

What an interesting perspective on how and why to play #boardgames

Day 6 of the @spielmas.com ⛄️ festival found us under the microscope looking for Diatoms from @sabrinac.bsky.social @ludoliminal.bsky.social and @25thcentury.games. #SpielMas #boardgames

Last day of the year and the sixth and last day of #spielmas Three different games played. Two making a reappearance but one new. So concludes my first Spielmas. It's been fun and a very good way to end this spectacular year. #boardgames

Our last board games of the year! Goodbye 2025, hello 2026. Wishing everyone a Happy New Year and many good moments with board games 💜🥳 #Spielmas #BoardGames

On the fifth day of #spielmas my dear friends played with me... #dungeonsanddragons

On the fourth day of #spielmas my true love played with me… #stardewvalleytheboardgame

Fourth day of #spielmas and what a day. Five different games played. We're gonna need a bigger hexagon. Size of game components does not reflect size of game but there are a few very obscure games this time around. #boardgames

Fifth day of #spielmas and I'm back at 3 different games but only one making a reoccurrence. Now there's only one day left of Spielmas and one day left of the year and then a big reveal as to why spielmas was pretty special to me this year. #boardgames
