In 2027 six of my books will return to print, more news later. Meanwhile, you can find four more of my books at JournalStone and Grimscribe Press. Happy October!

Mike Thorn names his 100 favorite horror books. It's a great list. I'm biased. He's included my story collection STRANGE IS THE NIGHT among some wonderful books by Ramsey Campbell, Stephen King, Daphne Du Maurier, Joyce Carol Oates, Kathe Koja, Gwendolyn Kiste... You will find an October read here.🎃

“Ann is one of the book’s strongest draws. Completely out of touch with reality, she’s both terrifying and oddly entertaining, the kind of person you love to observe at a distance while hoping never to meet in real life.” - Amanda Webster, author of If You Didn't See It Coming

“…one of the most magnetic and terrifyingly sociopathic characters I've encountered. Ann Mason is unforgettable...." - Suzanne Morrison, author of Yoga Bitch

"The inventive format, mixed media entries and epistolary pieces could be distracting in many a novel but work beautifully here... It’s tough to find something both chilling and page-turning lately in the horror-thriller realm, but If You Knew Me pulls it off..." -Dave Simms, Cemetery Dance Online ❤️

My contributor copy of Forbidden Futures 15 has arrived and it's stunning! The link to purchase your own stunning, cool copy is in the comments. Thanks so much to Cody, Daniel, and Mike Dubisch.

This book is a fantastic, dark, and intense read. If you missed it in 2019, you can rectify that now. (Disclaimer: I have yet to read anything by S.P. that I did not love. She is that good.)

A common, unintentional mistake non-depressed people make with depressed loved ones is trying to show them how to be more like the non-depressed. Essentially the message is: Be more like me. In other words, confirming their suspicion that they're not good enough. AND encouraging masking.

For a depressed person, facing an ugly truth may be hard but it's healthier and more empowering than being forced to lie. The more you have to pretend to be fine, the worse you feel. It's better to confront what you know to be hypocrisy.

Controversial idea of the week: A return to multi-generational housing could save civilization. Not recommended for people whose families are monstrous, of course. It's okay to be on your own, but should all of us aspire to own a big house we (ultimately) only share with one other person?

DID YOU KNOW my newest novel, THE DARKER THE NIGHT, is available in audio? Matt knew it wouldn’t be easy convincing his ex Lilly their son should have a chance to live with his dad. Lilly is dead set against the idea. Now she’s just dead, and Matt is the prime suspect. books2read.com/u/3Jq1Bv
