Not surprised advance voting for #BritishColumbia general election is down compared to 2024. Two yrs ago we voted in the NDP to govern the province better than the conservatives for 4 yrs, NOT to drop everything amid a trade war with U.S. to cynically call a 2-yr early snap election!

Meanwhile in the #UnitedStates: Virginia grand jury has indicted Dem state Sen. L. Louise Lucas & 6 others on charges of engaging in a racketeering conspiracy to sell cannabis & launder the proceeds. Thank goodness #JustinTrudeau legalized #cannabis in #Canada!
The bad news: ElectionsBC website is down "amid global outage blamed on [stinky!] PHP Programming lsnguage." The good news: My Wordpress blog is unaffected!
Question 2 (paraphrased) Should #Vancouver ask BC to convert portions of old St Pauls or similar site into med facility with voluntary & 100+ involuntary beds for folks posing risk to themselves or others due to drug use & mental disorders? Result: Yes (135,509) No (63,722).

Wishing outgoing #Kamloops mayor Reid Hamer-Jackson a speedy recovery from what he says was a heart attack. That's for him to say but I still think he's a heartless S.O.B! 🙃 #BCpoli

Defamation trial tween #Vancouver Mayor Sim & @seanorr.bsky.social doesn't begin til Jan but it really seems Sat's vote was court of public opinion awarding damages. Not only did Sim lose bad & Orr win big but Lenny Zhou, Sim's alleged smearing partner, got least vote of any ABC council incumbent.

Even @seanorr.bsky.social is maintaining a healthy vote lead over Ken Sim! 🤣 #Vancouver
#Vancouver's 2022 election saw 174,494 ballots cast, representing 36.3% of registered voters, acc. to the Vancouver Sun. City's live results page for the 2026 election lists "103,770 ballots cast". Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't that a nearly 40% decrease in turnout? 😳
