Got a package from @statuesque.bsky.social
They got a little soapy bath to remove any grease and are ready to be primed.

EU folk 🇪🇺: sales to the EU will be temporarily suspended on Thursday the 22nd.
Hopefully not for long, I just want to wait to see how Royal Mail implements new regulations.
There's still time to get an order in and for me to post it before all this, though.

Some adorable little Cloth Goblins from @statuesque.bsky.social
I wanted their paint to match the whimsical and carefree nature of the sculpts.
Hence, gobbos in kids blankets: pink with rabbits and carrots; purple with butterflies; blue with duckies; and yellow with African animals.

This one has been on my painting bucket list since her original release. The pose is just fantastic.

I'll be posting the first 60 Cloth Trows Kickstarter packages tomorrow!
But there are still just under a third of metal minis backers who haven't completed the pledge manager 🙀
Info is in the update from the 23rd of September and a KS message from me. Go have a look if you haven't already.
Yesterday I cast the last of the minis needed for the Cloth Trows Kickstarter 🙌
If you're a backer for the metal minis and you haven't done so already, check the latest KS update to see what you have to do next. I'll be packing orders soon.
They're also up for preorder!

I prepped and primed some minis to paint and maybe I'll finally finish the cloth wolves I started ages ago. These will all be block colour and shiny varnished ✨
Probably shouldn't have used an ancient can of white primer, but it's not as rough as it looks.

The cloth goblins inspect today's casting efforts: cloth trows and cloth trolls!
I've not posted much since the Cloth Trows Kickstarter ended as I can never sustain regular social media stuff, but I'm plugging away at it.

Finished my little cloth minis from @statuesque.bsky.social - these were completely different to the usual minis I paint, as the purposefully low-detail sculpts means I didn't have dry-brushing or washes to hide my mistakes! But really enjoyed this cute lot.

Despite yesterday's post, I hit the painting station today and got to work on some cloth goblins and cloth adventurers from @statuesque.bsky.social
I've had these for ages and it's criminal I've left them for so long! Just waiting for a wash to dry before I get back to them
The cloth trows get their close up 📸
I wrote a big ol' Kickstarter update about the painting process, which I hope will be of some use if you want to try out painting like this.
You should, it's fun! 🪥

The Cloth Trows Kickstarter is live!
I hope you like them. I'm really happy with how they've turned out and really want to get them out into the world!
Please do take a wee look. All pledges, shares, likes and comments much appreciated.

The cloth trows are finally enjoying their very own scenic (mini) muffin in their very own dome on the shelf of many domes.
Really enjoyed making it.

I took the scenic muffin outside to see how the colours looked in natural light.
I'm really happy with it and it was a nice change of pace to work on.
The cloth trows will feel right at home.
kickstarter.com/projects/statuesque/cloth-trows
Ok now I'm just messing about and need to leave the scenic muffin alone.
I've used sepia and yellow inks mixed with thin matt varnish to tint the flock. The yellow is less vibrant in reality and will likely dry more subtle. Maybe? No idea 🤷
kickstarter.com/projects/statuesque/cloth-trows
Well all that glue is going to take a very long time to dry. The cloth trows will just have to wait for their scenic muffin.
It was very peaceful flocking the flock and tufting the tufts though.
While we wait, check out the Cloth Trows Kickstarter!

With morning eyes, I see I didn't do a great job positioning everyone on the scenic muffin.
The elder trow is very close to the front and there's a lot of space at the back.
It's like the elder trow is going to tap on the glass to be let out.

Happy birthday me 🎂
I am so excited to get started on all of the incredible minis from @statuesque.bsky.social i have so many ideas and they are such beautiful sculpts 😍🤩
( they aren't going to be a Necromunda squad don't worry about the bases ☺️ )
#minipainting
I've plucked at it with tweezers and scraped at it with a pokey thing. I've glued some cork debris to build certain parts up, too.
I'll have my tea then have another look at it. Some adjustments needed to the taper, I think.
kickstarter.com/projects/statuesque/cloth-trows
The basic form is done, now I just need to make it look, you know, good.
And it needs to fit in the dome, which it currently doesn't.
I might add another layer on the bottom but that depends how it looks inside the dome.
kickstarter.com/projects/statuesque/cloth-trows
I want to make a scenic muffin for the painted trows so they fill their dome a bit better.
I'll probably use the wee dome, so it'll only be a mini-muffin. But not small enough to be classed as a scenic macaroon or scenic biscuit.

A scenic macaroon (for the ghosts) and a scenic biscuit (for the cloth wolves). So you know what I mean.
The wolves will be very upset as they've been waiting years to be upgraded to a scenic muffin. They're so cramped.

I got a flat tyre this morning so I'm a bit behind and the only painted cloth trow photo I've got finished is this one.
Look at their wee tails though.
More pics to follow 🛞

Here's a splattered cloth trow immediately after the splattering 🪥
I'll likely knock back the effect on the arms with a glaze, the base and stick will get a brown wash and I'll tidy up the dark lining and stitches.
Now I've got to film this chaos...

Let the blasphemy commence.
Drilling out the assault cannon was a pain in the arse but the head fitted damn near perfectly. Cheers to @statuesque.bsky.social - I'll be mixing in the Female Roid Rager heads throughout the army.
All four cloth trows have been splatter painted!
I got a lot of footage. Hopefully some of it is actually usable to show the process.
They still need tidied up and finished off, but that will have to wait. I'm hungry.
kickstarter.com/projects/statuesque/cloth-trows
Here's a comparison of a cloth trow with just pale grey splatter and a cloth trow with the brown wash splatter done, too.
I think it adds a nice amount of depth to the effect.
You should probably wear gloves for this.
kickstarter.com/projects/statuesque/cloth-trows
While I was splatter painting this trow, I managed to knock the wee tub the other trows were in flying.
Some repairs were required. Not actually paint chips, just scuffs. Everyone's fine now.
Still. Ffs.
