It seems that what I wrote here has been completely misconstrued. It was not some sort of support of Zionism. I was simply stating a fact, which explains why the US is so supportive of Israel because of the influence of the religious right. There are 20-50 million Christian Zionists in the US.

Stephen Barlow@steb77.bsky.social

There are far more Christian Zionists, than there are Jewish people, and a lot of Jewish people aren't Zionists. Also, Christian Zionism pre-dates Jewish Zionism by a lot. Both Christian and Jewish Zionists believe in the same thing, for different reasons. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christi... 1/2

Ivy Mining Bees from my backyard. I've been trying to photograph them for a while, but it has proved a bit of a challenged, because they constantly move around the Ivy flowers very quickly, making it very difficult to get precise focus and framing. The close-up is a crop to show the detail.

A Kingfisher, from the bird hide on Sinker's Fields, Whixall. I had this perch put in for Kingfishers about 5 years ago, and it's the first time I've seen one using it.

Odd this. Racist, far right violent thugs are treated as people with genuine concerns, but those peacefully protesting against genocide, and a lack of climate action are terrorists. To say this is extremely Orwellian, is understatement,

80 year-olds with pro-Palestine signs: arrested as terrorists. Greens planning to block a road, to highlight an existential crisis: sent down for years. Masked far-right thugs blocking roads and ports, using intimidation, obstruction & threatening behaviour: no arrests. The real two-tier policing.

Hugely wishful thinking If emissions peak by 2040 and fall rapidly, research shows we might get away with 'just' a reprise of the Pliocene ~ 3C higher temperatures and sea level eventually 15 - 25m higher If they don't, it will be worse - much worse www.theguardian.com/environment/...

This refusal of European political leaders to say climate change during this year's heatwaves, gave me a real sense of déjà vu. It is so like the refusal to say genocide, during a genocide. It's obviously from the same playbook, gaslighting 101. www.theguardian.com/world/2026/a...

The Mail seem obsessed with the confabulations of this black professor, but totally ignore the much bigger knowing lies of Donald Trump, and Boris Johnson - who they employ. Is it because he's black, or are only rich white racists allowed to make shit up?

14,000 killed by Europe heatwave in a single week. 300,000 flee wildfires in France & Spain. 70 MILLION in the US to be hit with third heat dome in a month. This is our world as it approaches 1.5C above preindustrial temperatures. Our kids face 4C+. We claim to love them. But we do nothing.

They say, madness is doing the same thing over and over again, and expecting a different result. Do not expect any mainstream politician to ever do anything to change our corrupt, life destroying system. A good test is wealth tax. If a politician won't openly advocate a wealth tax, they're corrupt.

Hard to think of a more deeply damaging start to Burnham’s premiership than giving green light to new oil & gas in N. Sea, if true. It won’t lower bills or lead to greater energy security but will drive an even hotter planet. What a terrible signal to give to rest of the world #ClimateVandalism

I totally agree, but feel this is much deeper than an Andy Burnham problem. This goes right back to the first 1972 UN Environment Conference where governments promised action on the them emerging ecological crisis, and then failed to take any of the action promised. 1/6

Not once in the last 54 years has any major government in the world, ever taken any significant action, that'd stop the systematic destruction of the Earth's natural life support systems, which sustain us, and keep us alive. Why is there so much denial about this objective truth and reality? 5/6

Why won't anyone acknowledge the 100% refusal of governments to take any meaningful action on the climate and ecological action. Why am I the only person pointing this out? I suggest that governments aren't what they seem and are only really there to protect the industrial capitalist system! 6/6

There is society wide denial about the disingenuous and deceitful attitude of our governments failure to take realistic action on the ecological crisis, which has been known about for well over 50 years. Governments promise action, make a few token and meaningless gestures, and do nothing. 3/6

Clearly this is to gaslight the public, who are concerned about this, that action is being taken or imminent, when it is not. Historical precedent is the best guide we have to possibly disingenuous attitudes of our governments. 4/6

The 1992 Rio Earth Summit only happened, because no action had been taken on the 1972 Action Plan. This is how old this pattern of procrastination is. I am to my knowledge, the only person pointing out the unbroken 54 year history of governments failing to take any action on this crisis. 2/6

This sort of public speculation by the police about the motive for a murder is highly unusual. Usually, we only learn about the views and motives of a lone killer, or someone who perpetrated a violent attack, at their trial and afterwards. www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2026... 1/2

To talk about the late Anne Widdecome as a politician is ridiculous. She was a very minor Tory politician a long time ago. Of course, she shouldn't have been violently attacked, let alone killed. But anyone who targeted her for political reasons, must have been deranged as she was harmless. 2/2
