What if you could execute a @nodejs.org package without ever unzipping it? What if npm had no central server, just a peer-to-peer mesh with cryptographic integrity baked in?
Looking forward to talking about what Iโve been working on at NodeConf EU next month! And excited to catch up with all my tech friends. ๐

Nice to see Sentry investing in TracingChannel so we can eliminate monkey-patches. ๐
We've been monkey-patching JS libraries for observability for too long now. It's fragile, ESM-breaking, and runtime-locked. So we started adding TracingChannel support upstream in 44 libraries ๐ Check out our latest blog post to see how and why: blog.sentry.io/fixing-javascript-observability/

First release of the Linux app is out. github.com/Sequins-dev/... Still more work I want to do with it, but the core features are all there. Give it a try, and let me know what you think! ๐
What features for sequins.dev should I work on this weekend? A Linux app, maybe? What do folks think a local-first Observability platform needs?

I recently released sequins.dev, to have all the Observability signals you expect like logs, metrics, traces, and profiles, but as a macOS app which you can use for local dev. It's also completely free and open source. Give it a try, and let me know if there's any features you want!

Had a chat with @stephenbelanger.com about the import-in-the-middle library, and his teamโs recent donation of it to the Node.js Org. We also discussed choosing Observability tools for node-apps, and the current state of performance in node itself. Enjoy! ๐: opensource.datadoghq.com/projects/node/
