Remember Rebecca Burke, the British cartoonist who was detained by ICE in February 2025? This was one of the first abductions of the Trump administration. Now Fantagraphics will publish her memoir: icv2.com/articles/new...

Combining several of my favorite things 😍

I've never eaten a jonagold and gone YUM, so I guess I'd better hunt down a tree. Personally, I like Spitzenburg best, but they aren't always available

The fuzzy little feet 😍

When Grammy-winning musician Rhiannon Giddens begins playing “Old Corn Liquor,” a traditional Black American folk tune, acclaimed Chinese pipa virtuoso Wu Man recognizes similarities to Chinese pentatonic music and spontaneously joins in. The joy on their faces says it all.

Finally retrieved the hair tie that has been under my bed for several years. Clap for me!

Scenes from Live Snake Storytime with the @berkeleypubliclibrary.org and East Bay Vivarium. We did some live drawing, read MEDUSA'S PET ROCK, and then they brought out the reptiles!!! 🐍🦎🐸

Me, all happy about completing my GN sample pages... before realizing I was working off of an outdated thumbnail sheet 🤕🤕🤕

Finally getting to posting my launch party pics, haha. Thanks everyone who came out to celebrate MEDUSA'S PET ROCK at Mrs. Dalloways last month! There were pet rock cookies, silly rock-themed prizes, and I even managed to finish my presentation without blanking out.

3rd positive trade review for Medusa's Pet Rock! This book has been out for just under 2 weeks now. Hoping it finds its way to snake-loving, Greek mythology-loving kids who are into dark humor and friendship stories :) www.stephlaubooks.com/medusa

Finally got a chance to read this Watermelon Pool, and I can report that I'm very into it 📚👍

Hi #KidLitArtPostcard! I'm Steph, and I like stories full of misfits and mischief. My 2nd picture book, Medusa's Pet Rock, just came out last week. Rep: @allielevick.bsky.social 🌐: stephlaubooks.com

This was me before my book launch party last week (and also before every major event where I will be perceived)

Live Snake Storytime! This Sat, Oct 3 @3pm, Central Berkeley Library. If you know a kid (or adult 😁) who likes snakes or Greek Mythology, this might be the event for you. This is my last launch event for Medusa's Pet Rock, so hope to see you there!❤️ berkeleypubliclibrary.libnet.info/event/16834545

@grahseeya.bsky.social my daughter wanted you to know that she thinks your books are "amazingly delicious" 📚👍

Graphic novel pals, feel free to suggest me to your agent (if you like working with them), as I am back on the querying grind with a graphic novel that would be a perennial selling YA/adult follow up to my award-winning book on comics, that is still in print (3rd or 4th printing)?

Eat these cookies at Mrs Dalloway's! Tonight!!! 6:30pm!

Never been to the opera before? Now’s your chance. We’re giving away 70,000 free tickets to the @metopera at the iconic Lincoln Center. Go to on.nyc.gov/opera to enter the lottery. There’s not a bad seat in the house.

Paid over 75 bucks to fill up my tank today 🙃

NEW: In late 2024, FBI investigators had enough evidence to launch a sweeping bribery probe that could ensnare top lawmakers, including Sen. Susan Collins. Then Trump was reelected and eviscerated the FBI and DOJ teams handling public corruption probes.

I'm the one on the right. The one on the left is who the clothing companies make jeans for

You know what's better than butts, rocks, and plants? A butt rock plant! This is a lithops (aka living stone succulent) and is one of several rock-themed prizes I'm giving away at my book launch next Thurs 9/24, at Mrs. Dalloway's @6:30pm! Registration link: www.eventbrite.com/e/steph-laus...

I'll be going through pitches and giving feedback next Monday ✌️

One of my annual goals (especially now that I do art for a living) is to find a new art thing to play with. This year I wanted to try stop motion (which I've learned now is a pita and prob easier with special rigs). Anyway, MEDUSA'S PET ROCK is out next week 😎 Order link: stephlaubooks.com/medusa

12yo: Syphilis? Isn't that the guy who has to keep rolling the rock?
