I'm seeing a major uptick in scholarship on loneliness, and it concerns me how the UCLA Loneliness Scale is being used. Folks, that scale goes from (1) Never to (4) Always. Let that sit for a moment.

Eight years ago today, a teenager armed with a Smith & Wesson AR-15 opened fire at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, FL. Seventeen students and school staff were shot and killed and 17 more were wounded, making it the deadliest shooting at a high school in modern American history.
