UK emigrant. Finally binned British passport to avoid saying: 'No todos somos racistas en reino unido' (we're not all racists in the UK but 52% of voters in 2016 probably were). UK's key challenge? Stop Reform's fascism. Almost vegan.. but cheese 🙄

Kudos to the BBC for this headline. Just goes to show doesn't it? Social media favours progressives. Because obviously the billionaires who control it are um secret socialists. Shouldn't joke. No doubt there are people who believe that.

The price of Trump meme coins has collapsed from above $40 to below $2. But fear not MAGAs. This was not just a rug-pull designed to enrich him by $635m. If you hold enough of them you're in with the chance of attending a gala dinner where you yourself might be pointed at by the handsome young man.

The ICC was set up to investigate war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide. Rubio is quite literally saying those things are OK by the United States. Anyone who buys goods or services from that nation is complicit. And yes, I know BlueSky is American.

Once again Trump is overlooked for the Nobel Peace Prize. But all is not lost. December approaches & it's possible FIFA will make him a two-time winner. But there's been suspiciously little discussion about the likely winner of this year's FIFA award. Surely that prize isn't being quietly forgotten?

Kemi Badenoch revealed today to an excited public that she believes in common sense. This isn't new, it's something constantly repeated by the right and their media mouthpieces. But why? Because we're invited to believe that leaders of other parties don't believe in common sense? It's just weird.

The Conservatives really think people are stupid. "Leaving the EU can't be to blame because it happened years ago" They know very well that the damage caused by Brexit is long-term and that it gets worse every year. So pinning the blame on Brexit is exactly what should be done.

When there's a 'western world storm in a teacup' I prefer to stay out of it. How important is Sheeran to bereaved parents in Gaza? But 'unjustifiable'? Stop digging mate. Killing tens of thousands of children is what?.. 'maybe quite a good idea but a bit tricky to justify'? Sorry, you're disgusting.

Just received this response from the BBC. I'd asked if they were trying to promote Reform or if their political reporters are really so ignorant they didn't know only His Majesty's Official Opposition can have Shadow Ministers. Not much of a reply is it? We still don't know which is the explanation.

Staying at a Leonardo Hotel this week. Just discovered it's Israel-owned. This sort of thing could be avoided by a simple mandatory banner on the booking site: "Warning ⚠️ this product may contain genocide" Let the consumer make an informed choice.

Can someone really work as a political reporter at the BBC if they don't know what a shadow minister is? Yes they've now corrected it, but this is ignorant at best. Or is someone at the corporation desperate to normalise Reform and their neo-fascist agenda?

Just realised this: My British friends think England defeated Germany in the second world war. Non-British friends think the Soviet Union defeated the Nazis. I guess neither is correct but the British view is less useful and more harmful.

BlueSky isn't like other sites. But surely some of us have obnoxious opinions? Which we should declare. I think I have only one: "People enjoy being dog owners for the same reason people enjoy being bullfighters. To establish dominance over something that could harm them but doesn't" There. Said it.

'Judeo-Christian values' sounds like such a harmless phrase but it works perfectly for the far right. Ticks every box: Assert cultural supremacy. Whitewash pogroms. And the Holocaust. Justify homophobia. Support white nationalism. Oppose LGBTQ+ rights. Avoid openly racist language. Undermine DEI.

I think the BBC is the UK's most important cultural asset. It's made terrible errors and has caused widespread anger but it's not Fox News or Murdoch or Viscount Rothermere. For all its faults it's something to be defended. But that's difficult when it publishes loving reviews of a neo-nazi rally.

Speaking with Spanish person about building regulations... Me: 'How can this possibly be allowed? Someone could stick one finger in the power and the other in the water' Spanish person: 'Yes but no-one would ever do that' Me: 'We would. We're the nation that voted to leave the EU' 😐

It's not hindsight. A year ago I posted this headline and suggested this comment made Mandelson an unsuitable choice for Labour. How is it possible that someone not even living in the UK could see this and Starmer couldn't? Does Starmer think it's funny to laugh at the idea of 'woke'?

I'm genuinely shocked. Many nice, liberal, Trump-opposing Americans on here regretting the deaths of seven military personnel. Yes of course. But not a word about the thousands of others, including hundreds of children. Why not? These people are less important because they're not American?

Peter 'I think Trump will be pretty reasonable' Mandelson quoted in yesterday's FT. Hahaha 'wokey-cokey'. So amusing. Dismissing concern for others with such a witty remark. This is the UK's new ambassador to the USA.

BBC News is at it again. While mangling English grammar they report that maybe the Norwegian government choose Nobel Laureates or maybe they don't. "If someone says it's raining and another person says it's dry...your job is to look out the fucking window and find out which is true" Jonathan Foster
