The Far-Right is losing in the UK too. Yes this is a real photo of one of their major conferences.

Finally getting on with 100% completing Assassin's Creed Odyssey. Its nice to be back and with max settings at 4k, super bright HDR and over 90ish FPS.

I'm having one of those very rare days where I am full with energy... I want to play some games... But I dont feel like playing games at all...

With the sounds of #StarCitizen 4.11, this may be the first big step towards what I want out of the game gameplay wise anyway. Ground gameplay, and not just premade, enclosed FPS areas.

Ok yea... Compiling the nvidia driver with LLVM/Clang definitely does bring performance improvements, considering, I am using -03, Polly, Full LTO and IAS.

After most of a day debugging why my games suddenly wouldnt load... I remembered, I cant compile the nvidia driver with LLVM/Clang when I have the official Arch Linux linux-zen kernel installed which is GCC compiled... I forgot the project I use targets all kernels if you do not specify...

An update on my kazeOS project. Still figuring things out, which is why I have been learning a lot of areas of the linux kernel lately as well as custom compiling and managing things. The EACv2 requirements added to that so, systems will now have 2 kernels, a custom built one and an official one.

I also had to go back to systemd sadly because of the requirements and problems with other things. I'm just pacing atm because I need money to properly test it, as well as test it on AMD GPU's.

Just spent the last few days learning about LVM on LUKS, the system behind disk encryption in Linux, as well as a bunch of Linux debugging systems, including those which verify and/or report on the kernels correctness to reduce memory management issues and more.

I also spent a bit of time figuring out Plymouth and how it interacts with LUKS and the boot process as well as my custom kernel. Learnt a lot, still need to figure out Hardware Disk Encryption but, I know fixing my system from live media has a few more things to remember due to LUKS encryption.

This sums up me coming across AI pushers on Reddit perfectly.

The defensiveness of AI boosters over calling this morally reprehensible is remarkable, they really do not like it when anyone has any kind of principles or when they care about something lol

the advances in AI models make it really feel like the cybersecurity of digital infrastructure is about to get tested in ways we've never seen before

OOOoooooooo… Getting my brothers Christmas presents in about 2 weeks… The Samsung 990 Pro 4TB is back 31% off… And I really need to replace my current 4TB… £500 is about what it cost before the memory crisis… Now do I get it as my own Christmas present…

Ok, figured out why my OLED TV had blue burn in… Apparently blue phosphorescence has a huge issue with effeciency… So, until that is fixed, I wont be considering an OLED monitor again. Keeping my eyes on Blue PhOLED and phosphorescence-sensitized fluorescence.

I went back to plain old Arch Linux. I am not a fan of how slow RPM is nor its workflow and my system interesting crashed a few times and was significantly slower.

Gonna give Fedora a try using the Fedora Everything installer. Its been a while since I tested a release based distro and, I can still use linux-tkg and build my kernel along-side a secure official kernel.

With the EA cuts, I am surprised they are still running SimCity 2013 servers at this point.

I'm debating if I should move my programming stuff to Linux... Use Linux as programming and gaming and macOS as everything else... I feel more comfortable programming on Linux.

If true, COD: MW4 made a serious prediction. If untrue, people are reading into COD: MW4 too much.

Alright, im gonna do it. Removing my Fractal Terra’s side panel on the CPU side and I’m gonna get a chonky Noctua cooler. It is facing the wall anyway and the GPU is too large for it anyway 😂 Not a ruined build, just only in the sense of tidiness.

Even under this extreme undervolt and effeciency optimisation with the AMD 9800X3D with the Noctua NH-L9a-AM5, after a few minutes, the CPU thermal throttles down to 4.3Ghz ish which, isnt bad but I’m not getting the best I could.

Sorry MERICA'n friends. I guess were WAR enemies now...

Trump officially supports Russia's invasion of Ukraine, placing the US squarely on the side of Russia vs Europe. Accepts talks about Ukraine with China and Russia, which would exclude Ukraine. "Russia, frankly, has been fine on Ukraine. They haven't been doing much."

WELL........ I set off an AI/LLM discussion on r/linux and my god some of the justifications, if you can even call them that, that the AI evangelists come up with... My god, its just lie, ignorance, arrogance and blind trust galore... Luckily, there are plenty fighting back so, that gives me hope.

I believe I may have scored a Golden AMD 9800X3D chip (Asus). Keeping the same performance in many workloads, I have: - All cores -50 voltage offset in PBO except Core 3 -38 and Core 4 -46. Core 3's 2nd thread was hurting a lot. - Load-Line's at Level 3. - VRM's set to Standard, not Extreme. 1/2 🧵

I could enable Hardware disk protection but that involves setting up some things which would be best left for when I do another system format. Tainted kernel is because I have RANDSTRUCT enabled in my kernel and need to compile my own nvidia driver to sign it, so no dkms.

RANDSTRUCT basically randomises the structures of the kernel to fend off attacks and my kernel enforces module signing and my nvidia one is the only one that needs something custom. The other 3 protections in my fwupdmgr security report are controlled by the firmware and I cant enable them.

So, that is: AMD 9800X3D from 140w to 70w. RTX 5070 Ti from 300w to 210 to 220w. Same performance and increased performance in many scenarios with FAR superior stability.

I have spent the last few days doing a bunch of research into getting the most performance out of my system while retaining the same performance with more performance a nicety and the stability improvements were unexpected. Also researching on how to secure my system as much as reasonably possible.

- VRM Spread Spectrum enabled. - AMD ECO cTDP 65w set. - No special Asus ROG UEFI features enabled. - No AI optimisation features enabled. - EXPO Tweaked enabled with 2000Mhz Infinity Fabric. - Over 10C reduction in heat for every core.

In CPU heavy games, my CPU only uses almost exactly 70w now. That is down from about 140w.

Linus Torvalds is one of the very few who I would trust with AI generated code because he actually knows what the hell he is doing and has a fury when it comes to quality code.

I forgot about an important feature on Linux since I havent used it in a long time. If you have fwupd installed, you can run 'fwupdmgr security' to check the full security pathway from UEFI to kernel. Userspace is its own thing.

The world has lost a scientist, pioneer, and one of the best of us. Humanity will carry her legacy to the stars and beyond.

In an era when women were routinely erased from history's achievements and forced to the sidelines by male scientists, she led the team that developed Apollo’s flight software, saved humanity’s first Moon landing, and revolutionised software engineering.
