I haven’t posted here in about a year, but I’m back to share Vinaa 👋 It’s a native Mac app for chatting with cloud and local AI models in one place. Now in public beta: www.vinaa.ai

I have two ideas for my AI app. Both have similar tools in the market so I don’t need to validate. One of them requires lot of engineering and the other one is not much. So going with simple one so I can easily move on if didn’t work out

F**k it. I'm building an AI app. I don't know what I'm going to build, but I'm building one. Why? I knew about all the tech waves (mobile apps, cloud and crypto) that happened in recent years at their early stages but never capitalized on them. I won't make the same mistake this time. I'm all in.

So what happens to FileMinutes? Nothing changes. I'm going to keep building as before. I think FileMinutes is the type of app that will slowly and steadily grow, and I'm looking at it for the long term.

I have tons of features to implement, marketing to do and have ideas for new apps but don't have time. I should have started this journey earlier but no regrets.

I am building FileMinutes not only for others but for me as well. In the next version, I'm solving one of my pain points. You can browse/show/close all open Finder window/tab directly from FileMinutes

2024 is the year I finally took action after years of procrastination. I consider FileMinutes a success even with few sales because it has proven me that I can do anything if I focus. 2025 is all about growth. I plan to spend more time learning and experimenting with marketing.

I only had basic features in the first release of FileMinutes but still I have to make changes to some of them after the release. This is why releasing early is important. Only after releasing you are going to get real feedback. #buildinpublic

This caught my attention in the library. As a marketing newbie, I need to learn the basics but this looked more of theory. I need a practical guide

Remember your focus is building the product. Not spending days on choosing the tech stack. Successful makers use the tech as just another tool. I know it is hard as a dev but I'm trying to change #buildinpublic

I hear your points. I was like that but not anymore. Nowadays I act like a product manager than a developer. My focus is getting things done. I have tons of feature requests and ideas, don’t have time to focus on tech.

I thought I need another 3 months to feature complete my app but releasing it last month was the best decision. If you haven’t released it yet, why haven’t you? Better be a good reason #buildinpublic

Released the first update to FileMinutes after launch. Positive response from users, and more feature requests are coming in! Wish I had more time to implement them all. #buildinpublic

Back to coding 🙌 Priority is to work on all the feedbacks received from customers. I’m using feedbacks as an input to refine features and prioritize but not blindly implementing exactly what the users asked. This is important for a successful product #buildinpublic

Last one week was crazy. I released FileMinutes and made sales during Black Friday. I am happy with the small number of users I got. Going to focus on them and the product. #buildinpublic

Writing documentation is hard even for my own product. But it is important and I already found few UI/UX improvements as a result #buildinpublic

Haven’t done much coding in the last three weeks. Focusing on the release, Black Friday prep, customer support, writing the user guide, ..etc. Starting to feel like a business owner now. #buildinpublic

What do you use for writing user guide? My website is a static HTML so looking for something than can convert Markdown to HTML. Not interested in React based web apps #buildinpublic

FileMinutes is officially released today! 🥳 After months of building the app, it's finally here. The journey wasn't easy - I had to sacrifice a lot and face many challenges, but I never gave up. I've made sales and received great feedback! If you're just starting out, keep going #buildinpublic

Accidentally deleted a customer inquiry from gmail spam folder. No way to recover it. Lesson learnt, I guess I just have to move on. #buildinpublic

Made two more sales. Both of them are lifetime plans. This happened after I reduced the price. Looks like new pricing works, going to stick with it #buildinpublic

Starting the weekend with another sale ✨ I haven't officially released the app yet but didn't want to miss Black Friday so submitted in few places. Looks like it is working.

Where do I post Black Friday deal? Already posted in couple of GitHub repositories. Is there are websites specially for MacOS apps? #buildinpublic

I almost gave up Bluesky after seeing only US political posts. The trick is to follow people you know from other apps. After that my timeline is what I need to see 🤣

New social media. This time I decided that I will be a producer (posting things) not a 100% consumer like what I used to do with other apps (only reading what others posted).

You are up to date.
