I say this as someone for whom Carrie is their favourite Stephen King book and who thinks that De Palma’s film is the best King adaptation made, I LOVED the new take on the story by Mike Flanagan. fleshing out the “villains” so they were more 3 dimensional was smart. The whole cast are great #carrie

I retain the opinion, even in the face of MANY who disagree, that this is one of the greatest horror films ever made which completely depends on the imagination of the viewer on how much it shocks / bores you

I’ve realised something. The demonisation of a largely nonexistent idea of a minority in politics/media is so when you read the headline ‘they’re coming for (eg) disabled people’ you don’t panic and think ‘hang on that includes loads of people I know’. Sorry if this is completely obvious.

‘Protect our women and girls’. Only not if you’re a disabled British woman…. Or a trans British woman. Or an ethnic minority British woman. Or a British woman who needs an abortion. Or a British woman who is attacked by a man we like. Or a British woman who says something we don’t like.
