It's the days I get to have at least a small say in the impact of others' lives (for the good I hope) that I find most exciting about my job. Since 2202, article acceptance days have moved from the tops to "meh, cool" range.

It's days like today that I'm so down with my research. Right now I have an RR with a journal - that in working paper form the Biden Admin used as PART of the basis for SAVE and to better understand loan borrowers situations - and a reviewer said it was unclear if the paper would make impacts.

Kamala Harris: I think that going in the direction of impeachment is not a good idea. I was in the Senate for the last go-round, and the votes aren’t there. I think after the election, we all have to just also agree that our attitude has to be to get stuff done…

"The votes aren't there" is cowardice masked as savviness. There has to be accountability for their crimes. The House has a duty to make the case here and if some GOP senators want to weasel out, make them own that vote. Don't let pundits and "strategists" talk you out of doing your damn job.

In the face of all the Grand Juries refusing to indict Trump's political enemies, I can't help but recall Justice Sotomayor's argument against Trump immunity in 2024; that we already have protections against rogue prosecutors, including The Grand Jury.

If your response to this is the 2/3 conviction requirement, thank you, but, I know. That said, (1) there is a lot more to this than the final vote and (2) we — Trump, Democrats, Republicans, the country — are in a very different place than we were in Trump 1.0.
