so much of this criticism of ai betrays a serious lack of introspection and awareness. have you ever driven a car? rode on a train? sent your kid to school on a bus? congratulations, you’ve used a wheel and axle. i felt like talking about something else in the middle of this post and that’s my right

just saw a take so stupid it can only make sense if you think technology is something separate from capital. there are a lot of smart people on this website and all of them are getting cooked by being a few degrees separation from capital it’s sad to see happen real time

like i’m sorry to say but you can’t just magically code a machine to fix our problems in fact most of you are working on ways to help capitalists accumulate more capital in a quicker manner while also begging “leftists” to stop being mad at you doing that it makes 0 sense

anyways you don't have to care about anything but being anti climate change to be anti ai because look at this chart and seriously tell me this is good. I mean actually look at it and tell me this is what you want and this is what your fighting for

This post is kinda harmful about the way it approaches the current problem we are facing. As an electrical engineer who works on the actual energy producing side the problem, is that the current expansion of data centers is by far out pacing the load capacity and load generation in this country

all in all i don’t think that we should be assuming that the bubble economy is giving us an accurate forecast for how much compute will be necessary in the near future and an overbuilding of data centers will be very harmful to the electrical grid and economy of all those who rely on it

basically look at this way. the housing bubble is the direct reason we have a housing shortage today and the affordability crisis this “ai bubble” is doing the same thing for energy production

on a pure energy production stand point. Data centers come online much faster and begin to draw dangerous loads especially as many are being brought on as “load bears” aka the last things to ever lose power next to hospitals and prisons. The explosion of the amount of them being built is also

completely funded by a bubble economy there is no proof that this computing power is actually needed in the next 5-10 years and will actively harm the ability for large scale manufacturing and other energy intensive economies that have real world use cases to become outcompeted.

my entite timeline on this app is real leftists and normal people rightfully confused on this ai racism discourses because no ai racism isn’t real and isn’t actually harmful. and then it’s tech people who are 1 degree of separation away from venture capital saying it’s the most harmful thing ever

This weird faux leftist pro-AI shit is designed to work in spaces and areas where the tech fascists already completely control the discourse like the Bay, it's for people who are way further down the tech fascist radicalization path than we are so when we get Moreover, ICE must be destroyed

ICE is illegally raiding apartments in minority neighborhoods and Trump is trying to deploy the national guard to suppress dissent and people are really out here wasting their time arguing that LLM bigotry is a thing ??? please wake up and care about literally anything that matters

probably one of the most fucked up things i’ve read. how have we as a society collapsed this much that this is even possible

Dodgers broadcast was discussing the science behind the perception of time between children and adults. After hearing the explanation, the color commentator pauses and asks, "Am I gonna feel any better?" Andy Pages then smashes a dinger into space, thus ending the existential crisis on commentary.
