I feel like I need to play Blades in the Dark because there’s a certain amount of TTRPG-cred I think I don’t have when I say I’ve never played a Blades game (although I have played Girl By Moonlight which is a FTID system!)

It makes me laugh that in Heart I let my players essentially skip an entire chapter through good decisions and roleplay, knowing fully well when they inevitably have to go back to the surface they’ll have to re-do everything they skipped and the threats will have worsened!

I am such a big fan of this adventure because of how it’s written though because each chapter is basically “here’s a bunch of stuff that COULD happen” and it does such a good job of guiding you whilst also accepting the fluidity of the system that your players won’t stuck to any railroading!

The scheduling demons deploy their twice yearly bullshit to throw off your gaming plans. Don't let them win! Clocks went back last night in European timezones. This makes time differences wobbly for a while. Always try to use unicodes (like hammer.time or Discords @time function) to avoid mix ups!

Had my first (not recorded) Heart session after a 5 week hiatus! The entire session was the group landing in the only safe haven ok the edge of oblivion and meeting a cart of incredibly weird characters that are all trapped there 😅

(We’re playing Dagger In the Heart) Highlights are Excalibur Carter,a legendary hero (who is stated as such!) but has such Ennui he never applies himself, the mayor of the town and his second in command, A Witch creature that has already interrogated the party disguised as someone else (and more!)

My first five TTRPGs in the order I played them: (off the top of my head) 1. D&D 3.5e 2. Savage Worlds 3. Pathfinder 1e 4. D&D 5e 5 Call of Cthulhu (7e!)

My first five ttrpgs in the order I played them: 1. D&D 5e 2. D.O.G.S 3. Paranoia 4: Lancer 5: Mass Effect 5e ....the rest of the hive mind definitely has different ones like Pathfinder, Apotheosis Janitors, and Thirsty Sword Lesbians!

Ten Candles is one of my favourite TTRPGs so please do check this out! AND ITS FOR A GOOD CAUSE! ❤️

roller's joint IS CASTING@rollersjoint.bsky.social

Plunge into the depths with our cast of this Ten Candles two-shot! Even if you missed part one, you'll be able to keep up with this chrono-oceanic horror 🫣🐋Will your donations save this cast and crew? Probably not, but might as well give them the screams and crush their dreams for CHARITY!!

I showed a friend a clip from the Chainsaw Man movie and his response was “I can see why you like this” (he did like it as well to clarify) but I can’t help but feel slightly read by it nevertheless!

Going through genres we’ve covered we’ve done Fantasy, Horror, Rom Com, Comedy, Sports (if wrestling counts?) Is there anything we should try that we haven’t? Maybe a Crime/Heist game, or something Sci-fi based? 🤔🤔🤔

Backed! I love the concept of this and look forward to getting to give it a try! 👀

To Feel Your Warmth is LIVE on BackerKit! A tragic duet vampire TTRPG about two people in love, one of which has been cursed with vampirism, in the final hours before sunset. A conversation about love, trust, and the decision to move forward together or say goodbye forever. 🩸🚪🌅

Coming to BackerKit October 20th! To Feel Your Warmth is a tragic vampire duet about two people in love, one of whom has been cursed with vampirism, in the final hours before sunrise. It is a conversation about love, trust, and the decision to move forward together or say goodbye forever. 🚪🩸

Per my previous post, I don’t think it’s too hot a take to clarify but if I see you’re a cool AP show on social media, and then see AI thumbnails or generated art. I won’t listen or watch your show and you’ve already lost me (written after I saw exactly this!)

Saw a TikTok where someone in the TTRPG space was saying that it’s okay to use AI because it’s “here to stay” and I replied trying to say that just because you can doesn’t mean you should use AI tools - and that my tables certainly wouldn’t approve of that in lieu of….actual imagination?

I’ve been binging a load of other Actual Play podcasts these past few days. I find it can really help motivate me to hear what others are doing in the space, especially when they’re playing niche games that I’ve thought about running but been unsure what it’d look like to remind me it can be done!

So, I finally did the thing I released a small "beer and pretzels" RPG that dares to ask the question: "What if the military industrial complex got their hands on time travel?" It's free/PWYW on itch! Would be real cash-money if you checked it out! ex-sir-games.itch.io/warriors-acr...

ex-sir-games.itch.ioW.A.R.P. - Warriors Across Rapid Periods RPG by Ex-Sir GamesYou've done this all before! This time you'll get it right!

TTRPG Actual Play enjoyers: Do you mind when a show has a “Dice Roll” sound effect to signify when a roll is taking place or does it distract from the experience? Or does it not matter and I may be overthinking things? 😂😂

Happy Birthday! If you like Daggerheart , or want more of it after listening to our oneshot please check out The Naturolls for some amazing longer form content! 😁😁

One more ask for ya, if you don't mind! Today's my birthday and if you'd be willing to get me a small present, you could bring a big ol' smile to my face if you listened to an episode of our #Daggerheart podcast, or go gave us a 5⭐ rating on Apple Podcasts or Spotify! thenaturolls.com

Do I feel a tiny bit of a fraud when I have to put in “DND” in the hashtags of a post about something else because it’ll probably help the engagement. A little. Do I do it anyway? Yes! (Also partly because when telling people about the show I’ll always get asked “oh you play D&D?” 🙃

Sometimes I think that initial first step in putting a thing out is to just do it. Our early series’ took so long because I was so worried I was putting out something “bad” it made me not want to do anything….and now I look back on that and laugh a little 😅

Don’t worry why I’m reposting this but…. ….Just watch this space if you like vampires stomping in Nazis y’know? 👀

I’m always super curious when someone DOESNT like something that I adore. I was chatting to someone the other day about a show I love and they were like “I just didn’t finish it” but I needed to know how we had such differed experiences consuming the same piece of media 😅

As war between the Terran Collective and the Aonic Primacy tears across Lodestar Alpha, one plucky fireteam get enlisted on a mission that could turn the tide of this galactic conflict. Get ready for big hearts and bigger guns - it's The Mecha Hack! #ttrpg #actualplay #mechahack

Had a Heart session just now where the players had to battle "A Door Wizard" who could essentially summon a door to redirect any attack you threw at him back at you.... It was very amusing watching a PC blow themselves up with their own grenade to start the fight 😂
