Looking forward to AdventureX in less than two weeks time. I'll be attending both days as part of the co-operative I'm in, @talespinners.co.uk. If anyone would like to have a natter over a cuppa, just drop me a message or find me at the conference. #AdventureX #AdvX #gameswriting #narrativedesign

Check out this great conversation about game editing featuring our own @cashdecuir.bsky.social! #GameDev #Writing #GameEditing #GameWrting

Game narrative people - if you couldn't make it to the @writersguildgb.bsky.social panel on editing videogames, it's now available online! It was a delight to host @coreybrotherson.bsky.social , @hollynielsen.bsky.social and @cashdecuir.bsky.social 📚 Watch here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=TZet...

If you are in a position to do so, I highly recommend other writers to search for contracts together like @talespinners.co.uk The more we can find opportunities together, and continue sticking together the more institutional knowledge we can share with one another.

Just adding up the layoffs from today is putting collective centuries of experience in AAA dev out on the street. It's not just one person's career, but teams who've worked well together. A lot of this experience can't be copied by hiring different people. None of it can be copied using GenAI.

Come to the North American Games Industry Summit (NAGIS) in June and see this panel featuring our own Chris Tihor discussing #GameNarrative with other #GameWriting professionals. Informative & useful for game writers as well as #GameDev companies wondering how to include narrative in their games.

Congratulations to @ironiciconic.bsky.social and all the other folks involved with Crimson Desert on a successful game launch! It looks terrific!

Storyworks Inc.@storyworksinc.ca

With the release of Crimson Desert by Pearl Abyss this week we're delighted to announce that our own Chris Tihor (@ironiciconic.bsky.social) contributed additional writing to the game via @talespinners.bsky.social and Side. Check the game out here: crimsondesert.pearlabyss.com #GameDev #Writing

Check out this terrific new collection of essays on #GameNarrative by some of the brightest lights in the #GameDev industry. Our own @ironiciconic.bsky.social has contributed an essay on writing mysteries for games based on his own work writing for Nancy Drew and Agatha Christie's Poirot.

FYI for fellow narrative designers/game writers: the studio in question is Sentona Games and it’s my understanding they are currently interviewing to replace me. Be very careful with them. They were very nice to me and easy to work with right up until I needed the money I was promised.

On Monday I sent a plea to the client who owes me $24k for months and months of work, owed to me since September, saying that if they do not pay me by the end of the month I will lose my apartment and that they should show some humanity and pay the invoice They of course have not paid the invoice

We played a minor part, supporting the in-house narrative team, working on barks and vignettes, some aspects of dialogue, and editing across the board on this Seattle based, action roleplaying game.

Our team consisted of Cash DeCuir (Consultancy & Additional Writing), and Michelle Clough, Matt Gibbs, & Chris Tihor (Additional Writing). Thanks to TCR and PDX for letting us explore the shadows with them.

As usual, our own @michelleclough.bsky.social will be at #GDC2025, taking part in game writing panels and roundtables on romance and intimacy in games! She's also happy to talk about Talespinners and what we do, so if you're interested, feel free to flag her down on BlueSky or via the GDC app!

It’s time again for the annual “Michelle blows the dust off social media to share GDC news” ritual! ;) Yes, I am at #GDC2025, hoping to see old friends and make some new connections. I’ll also be taking part in several roundtables and panels! (1/5)

As of today, the IGN Creators Guild has been voluntarily recognized by Ziff Davis. We're a real legal union, now and forever. Thank you so much to everyone who supported us in any way, by sharing the petition, posting about us, voicing support, anything. It meant the world. We did it.

Something for your weekend.
