Tanner F. Boyle, Getting Spooked

Today, researcher extraordinaire Martin Cannon joins the program to discuss his new book, Mysterialis, & reveal the complexities behind one of the most understudied examples of Fortean phenomena: Marian apparitions & the often accompanying high weirdness. tannerfboyle.substack.com/p/36-mystify...

With thorough research and a singular voice, Cannon introduces listeners to the psychology of the seers as well as just what might cause spontaneous trances & mass sightings. We also talk about some of his colorful history within the fields of ufology, conspiracy, & mind control.

I wrote an exclusive article for this month's FATE Magazine and it's shipping now. Find out whether the Men in Black ever disappeared or if they're still haunting ufology AND support a historic publication while doing so: www.fatemag.com/product-page...

In 1982, UFO researcher Lt. Col. Wendelle Stevens was charged & indicted on three counts of child molestation. Despite pleading guilty, he spun a narrative about his targeting by the CIA for revealing UFO truths. Recent FOIA records reveal the darker truth. tannerfboyle.substack.com/p/saucer-rot...

Further questions arise regarding the extent of Stevens' network & production of illicit material. It is revealed that Air Force intelligence was likely aware of his actions. Aspects of ufology perversely intermixed with his criminal actions. More in the article itself.

Martin Cannon, author of The Child Stealers and The Controllers monograph, has released the lengthy book Mysterialis, covering the Marian apparition phenomenon & the high strangeness that accompanies these experiences. Proud to say I wrote a foreword for some of the front matter.

Egads, the Cystic Detective approaches. Today, he covers a monograph on early CIA covert influence operations, a movie about the dingy roots of AI hype, revisits the gold standard of MKUltra books, and pays tribute to the late Frances Stonor Saunders. tannerfboyle.substack.com/p/cystic-det...

Come one, come all: The gnomechat is back, though the group is playing duck duck goose with attendance. Today, Bradley unleashes a very strange woodland story that baffles Emily and Tanner, we discuss some random UFO-related things, our own sightings, (...) tannerfboyle.substack.com/p/35-gnome-1...

what makes something true crime, the Quakers, and much much more. Thank to @bpleasies.bsky.social and @weirdreadsemily.bsky.social for their time and the excellent conversation. @seriations.bsky.social, unfortunately, was overtaken by a mystical man in the woods and is out with poison oak.

To those who are Spooked, TAKE COVER. Independent researcher Bo joins the Getting Spooked Podcast to regale Reid and I with the history of Soldier of Fortune magazine and the spooks, fascists, & fibbers who lived it in a meaty episode. tannerfboyle.substack.com/p/34-scrutin...

As these fringe subject repeatedly intersect, friend of the show Bo has volunteered to share his findings on the history of Soldier of Fortune magazine, a publication run by a spook adventurist for other spook adventurists. Foundational to the beginning of the militia and (...)

PA fringe researchers unite in a wide-ranging conversation, crossing the streams even though Egon warned us. In a casual format, we cover cryptids, UFOs, spirituality, & more in this crossover ep with Consensus Unreality, hosted by the wonderful Dave & Ben. tannerfboyle.substack.com/p/33-squonk-...

I talked with EFR and Alison about UFO politics, a heady topic but i think everyone on the roundtable had a fun time. 👇

A soggy ream of paper was left on my desk, a calling card of the Cystic Detective. Today, he recounts readings on Marian apparitions and other signs & wonders, as well as another book on the foreboding Franklin Scandal—it recalls UFO scandals worth revisting tannerfboyle.substack.com/p/cystic-det...

Plus, a possible point of interest emerges in the Octopus conspiracy, could it be a previously unknown remote viewer? Then the UFO fatigue really sets in with some updates on the mandatory UAP disclosure and the craven ghouls running interference.

If you plan on Getting Spooked today, it's quite a scene: Three gnomes walk into a bar & turn a minisode into a full-length podcast, covering Reid’s trip to hostile elf territory, a book hoarder with an NYT feature, that one looksmaxxing guy, and more. tannerfboyle.substack.com/p/32-gnome-1...

Emily, Reid, and Tanner also do a rundown on the likely motivations of the MAHA movement, the tales of two Grahams—Lindsey & Platner, a state of the UK update from Emily, and Bigfoot’s mortal remains. It's a rip-roaring good time for supporters of this publication.

Today, Cystic Detective, smelling not unlike a trash compactor, identifies some Fortean publications worth perusing (including a call to action), revisits the mystifying Maury Island incident, and addresses just what the hell that MKUltra hearing was. tannerfboyle.substack.com/p/cystic-det...

Check out the articles mentioned, one of which indicates the chance of new research from fringe man-about-town, Martin Cannon. Plus: FATE is under new ownership & hoping to continue its Fortean legacy. Finally, I ramble about MKUltra, what the hearings missed & what it all means

Tanner gets his nostalgia goggles on, reminiscing about St. Louis. Guest Devin Thomas O’Shea, thankfully, brings things back down to historical reality, where the city is beset by a strange, Klannish secret society that's made life worse for everyone. tannerfboyle.substack.com/p/31-unveili...

Topics include: A nuclear garbage fire, toxic chemicals, a trolley to nowhere, McDonnell Douglas parapsychology, the MLK assassination’s STL plot, conspiracy expert Kenn Thomas, Beatle Bob, & the shadowy illusions wielded by people at the top to grant them more wealth & power.
