Got a holiday toy catalog in the mail and the presentation is so dull it makes the toys look like supporting evidence in a murder trial. Also included are images from the Toys R Us 1996 catalog. No reason.

The inciting incident for Primetime is evidently that Aaron Sorkin tried to write a comedy.

"BIRD, NEW PLAN! First, we skydive off the Space Needle! Then, the New York Times picks it up, and we take that to the Rivoli. They see how famous we are, and we book a show GUARANTEED." "Yeah, but Matt, wouldn't that just make us famous CRIMINALS?" "Famous criminals who PLAYED THE RIVOLI, Jay!"

The pledge manager for @leagueofgeeks.com's "Armello: The Founding and the Fall" is LIVE! If you missed the campaign (and maybe wanted to grab those Black Company Bandit Clan skins!) you have one last chance! www.kickstarter.com/projects/lea...

IT’S FINALLY ANNOUNCED! Huge congratulations to the @guildwars2.com team! I spent a long time helping build this world when I was at ArenaNet, and it’s beyond exciting to see it finally out there!

👀

The discourse about Destiny 2 "dying" because it won't receive any additional updates is fascinating to me as someone who thinks the original Unreal Tournament still slaps despite not being officially updated in 25 years.

Capcom absolutely killing it this year, wow.

In super cool news, my cousin @tylersonic.bsky.social just announced his incredibly well-researched and likely as definitive as humanly possible book on The Dead Milkmen, appropriately titled THE DEAD MILKMEN! Pre-orders are live!

Been pulled between a bunch of projects these days, but I'm so excited to see the Armello omnibus finally ready to enter the printing phase! There have also been a ton of fun updates on War of the Western Deep over at @westerndeep.bsky.social's feed--that's been keeping me busy X)

Facebook Marketplace just straight up selling an entire DZ Discovery Zone like it’s a used Toyota Tercel.

We're SO excited to announce that Maggie Robertson has joined our incredible voice cast for War of the Western Deep! Maggie has done some absolutely amazing work bringing Skora to life and we can't wait to share more with you in the coming weeks!

Late pledges for our @leagueofgeeks.com Armello Kickstarter will CLOSE this Sunday, February 15th! Believe it or not, we've seen over $9K in late pledges since the end of the campaign! If you missed out, this is your last chance to pledge: bit.ly/armello-late...

Post a banger that's not in English. youtu.be/o7xY1wGfD0U From Ukrainian band Ot Vinta. Heard a snippet on public radio back in like 2014 but didn't get the song or band, so I actually reached out to the host of the segment directly X)

Aw man, looks like they accidentally swapped in the subtitles from Enrico Pallazzo’s performance of Nessun Dorma at the Winter Olympics opening ceremony.

Today's indie game: War of the Western Deep (sunsgrove.games). Currently just a demo on Steam, but a competent old-school LucasArts style graphic adventure, with gorgeous art. For people nostalgic for those days, this is one to keep an eye on (among many other graphic adventures in IGF this year).

If you make me choose between the subscription-based AI-powered voice-controlled refrigerator that plays TikToks and serves ads or the weird goo fridge I'll probably pick the weird goo fridge.

Setting up a Plex server has demonstrated no algorithm is capable of handling my dumb media collection. "This is The Super Mario Bros. Movie by Illumination, yes?" "No, it's the live-action 1993 one." "And clearly you mean Netflix's Carmen Sandiego?" "Actually it's the PBS game show from 1991."

Late pledges for @leagueofgeeks.com's "Armello: The Founding and the Fall" have been such a hit that we're extending them until the end of January as we lock things down for production! Missed the campaign? No worries! You can still pledge all through next month! bit.ly/armello-late...

when someone tells me not to use em dashes because AI uses em dashes

EXT. WHITE HOUSE - TURKEY PARDONING CEREMONY An alien craft lands on the south lawn. A metal hatch opens. Space turkeys. With laser guns. Shit. The turkey that was about to be pardoned pulls out its own laser gun. They gobble in alien tongues.

I wrote this story almost 15 years ago as a tone and style test for Armello, but also as a worldbuilding activity. No one except five or so folks within LoG have ever read it. Excited for it to be a part of this omnibus alongside Alex’s gems.
