I confess: had you told me when I started writing these that eventually I’d be writing them about the actual plague I would have picked a different name. And I confess: had you told me when I started writing these I’d be writing them for years I wouldn’t have started

Our taxpayer dollars are being spent at an American company (in the middle of a trade war) that offers better deals to folks walking in off the street than to teachers ordering through the Ontario Ministry of Education portal. Make it make sense!!! #OntEd

Today I presented on the #ethical harms and logical errors of the many #child abuse allegations in pediatric #LongCovid and #MECFS. This was part of the Socrates Stichting Summercourse. The audience was clearly shocked and moved. Lets hope, this is another drop towards change.

Thanks to Doug Ford and Paul Calandra, 80,000 elementary educators have to order classroom supplies from Staples this year instead of from their school boards. I decided to do a little comparison shopping for school supplies many of us will have to order over the course of a school year. 🧵 #OntEd

A friend called to see if I had plans in case I lose power, so I told her I lost any power I had a long time ago and ever since I’ve been running on anger, fear, and hope, to which she responded she meant losing power in the storm, so I said: I also have a flashlight.

Driving past Toronto today, I saw a billboard advertising Orlando. Its tagline was "Skip the winter in Orlando", and my first thought was - we are Florida, we are. I guess they had a whole different meaning in mind. #USBoycott

When you hear them say "Avoid it like the plague" Remember that it doesn't mean what you thought it meant.

Plague Poems@plaguepoems.bsky.social

When you hear them say
they have been sick,
they have been “sick as a dog,”
it is important to recognize
how very unfair this is
to say about dogs,
for to keep getting sick
because you are ignoring an ongoing pandemic
is not to be “sick as a dog,” but sick as a human.

🚨 Are people sicker now than in 2019? Civil servants in England are. Sickness absence rates have *risen by between 12% to 23% across the age groups*. Are things getting worse? It certainly looks like it. This is exactly what we predicted repeat covid infection would do.
