Kickstarter actually ended up approving the final project way ahead of their described timeframe, so I should actually be able to launch it this upcoming Tuesday now! 🥳 (I just need to send these test copies out for print and finish some promo images now, and then we'll be ready to go!)

For context, I encountered a bug on Kickstarter that made it infinitely load the Stripe verification instead of putting my info through, and unfortunately the only way to fix it was to make the entire campaign page over again. 😮‍💨

SO sick of Webtoon making videos/posts trying to trick newer creators into thinking there's any money in Canvas. I make $1-3/month in ad rev from my 23K sub series, posting twice a month. (I've gotten as little as $0.06 per 1K views) At that's me being "lucky" Most canvas comics earn NOTHING.

On top of that, more and more, canvas is being walled off from access to that userbase too. Every change they've made to the app's UI has killed reach for even established comics like mine. I can't even IMAGINE trying to hit that 40K views for ad rev as a new comic today.

My advice to new creators: don't count on Webtoon for income. Set up a patreon, a tip jar, or try to eventually print books through something like Kickstarter. There's not a ton of money in comics in general, but there's certainly more income to be found in those other places than on WT Canvas.

I know they won't, but I just wish WT would at least be honest. They do have a large, semi accessible userbase, which is why everyone hasn't left yet. But the idea that anyone outside of the top 5% or so of comics on there make ANYTHING even remotely livable is insanely dishonest.
