Ok so my little brother has a friend starting art school, and she got mad because in her painting class no one wanted to go deep into the meaning of her vent art. (She is trying to be a gallery artist) Some very harsh truth about art school and art life in general.

And we artists all go through this. Not just in art school, but putting your art out anywhere. Also, a lot of other artist dont ues art to vent; they may tell a story, but it's not personal to them. Or its all about the process to them. So it won't connect the same way as you do.

But all in all You are no longer the art kid in the class; you're now a kid in the art class. You're not owed attention because you spent time and thought on something. You have to earn it and grab it by getting better at your craft.

Your art, no matter how much time and emotional energy you put into it No one will give as much of a shit about it as you do. Especially in art school That art piece is going to be 1 in 40 others they see and are asked to comment on that day, or even in those 2 hours.

On top of that, everyone else had to think and plan 4-8 art pieces for themselves that day. Furthermore, not everyone is drawn to the art you make. And making people care about your art is pulling teeth. And in art school, those teeth are like wisdom teeth not fully in yet.
