I often think on how there will always be the rich and the powerful. Our system is made for it. But there never has to be artists. When we lose one, it is something special truly gone. A unique spark. Perhaps it's a small mercy that all of it is left behind for us. Thanks, John.

Ahh, guess I'm on a bit of a roll at the moment. Trench Crusade's Heretic Priest. I wasn't originally planning on the osl at all, I'm a bit shy of it, but this offered up generous surfaces. Makes that armor look crusty and gross. One of these days i'll finish my board and actually play a game.

A fairy from Household! This one is a homage to my grandmother, who is 97. She can't see very much these days, and can't garden like she loved, so when I saw this figure, I thought of her. The pink and green are 'her colours'. I did a pretty good job on a figure that probably needed more definition

Continuing the painting this weekend. An Azeb, from Trench Crusade. Not nearly as happy with this one, my print quality is not great, and thus the paint can only do so much. But he's no centerpiece model, so it'll be fine. I do like my work on his prayer rug.

Life has been lifeing, and I've been spending my efforts in Blender and calling it hobby - it aint. Anyway, here's Trench Crusade's Warwolf. I wanted to emphasise the wrongness of this creature. I think the pink skin and the earth protesting it's touch is just right, and i love my nnm. Good one.

Time for some Trench Crusade. Damn the aesthetic in this game is just lovely. The Brazen Bull got my notice instantly, and i'm quite happy with this rendition - even if it took me bloody ages to finish. the blutack base is just a placeholder. I hate basing so much. Very happy with the gun patina

The last of the.. Quadrumvirate? of the Warhammer Quest starter dingbats. I really like how this one came out - it's one of the best things I've ever painted. I like this new style - well, new to me anyway. No clue what i'll paint next.

Number three is done. I tried an entirely new style, which is the thing to do when you're halfway through a batch of models. I quite like this model, hobbit foots and all. I like the new style a lot too.

Right. Time to make this a bit of blog for myself to document my painting in whatever year this is. Like many idiots, it's very easy to disparage my own work, so I want to keep track. Warhammer Quest.

If one guy holds most of the tech people rely on, it is a vulnerability, but also it's one guy: as a global population we should be able to easily just take it from him, so it seems to me the real vulnerability is an internalized belief that private ownership is more sacrosanct than human thriving.

Musk threatens to shut off Starlink access if Ukraine won’t sign the minerals “deal”. So many of us warned about Europe’s near-total tech dependence on the US. Deeply irresponsible to rely on the continued benevolence of an external actor for such vital systems. kyivindependent.com/us-threatens...

In the cold war, capitalist states went to great lengths to provide the minimum cost of concessions to the proletariat in order to maintain national resistance to revolution. Today those states are run by supplement salesmen who actually think socialism is fought by gutting those same concessions.

If you're still asking "who wants this? Who asked for it? What does it do?" You've been missing the point for years. There is *always* an investor buzzword and if you can trick people into thinking YOUR snake oil is the next big thing, you'll make billions...just from the stock price going up.

Anyway, later on it would turn out that every American who somehow managed to post 'I'm so sorry about Trump', despite the crocodile tears covering their iphone screens, would be spared. A brave move to be well rewarded.

I just played some deadlock with someone who started watching Dexter because it's popping off in insta memes. They'd never seen it because they were 3 when it aired originally. I long for maximum entropy.

You are up to date.
