If we want people to react differently we have to build those channels, but I think the problem seems to be none of us know how, beyond voicing our own opinions. Which isn't nothing! But if a mutual aid network or support platform for laid off workers exists I don't know about it

I can't really fault people for directing their energy towards "save [thing I love]" when creative industries are organized around Corporate IP ownership and we completely lack any institutions connecting the dots for people that art, fundamentally, is the work of the artists who made it

I understand like "Gamers Just Want Consume Product 😠" as a general grievance but also think the industry is deliberately engineered to foster that attitude, right down to the NDAs we all sign, and information on how to actually support effected workers when they are laid off is non existent

the way Ellen Greene effortlessly switches between doing her campy Audrey character performance (compliment!) and the most incredible singing u've ever seen is like a magic trick that works on me every time

the way it keeps escalating is incredible i've completely changed my mind

look, sure, I'm sad about audrey and seymour (rip) but the plants just wanted it more and at a certain point you have to respect that

i think it's probably like, just the weird sycophantic tendencies of Chatgpt + it scraping a lot of articles and reference to specific outlets reporting critically about tech + a lot of people complaining on reddit about how you can't contact meta support. I doubt this was intentionally engineered
