@Nytimes.com "White House Declines to Offer Congress an Estimate of Iran War Cost" The word is "refuses." Or work in "stonewalls." It wasn't a fucking party invitation.

I know I can get no support for the idea that our president should be chosen using a lottery system, but the fact remains that it would have gotten us a better result than we got in two of the last three elections.

Five books to get to know me: #Booksky 1. The Last Unicorn, Peter S. Beagle 2. The Visual Display of Quantitative Information, Edward Tufte 3. The Complete Calvin and Hobbes, Bill Watterson 4. The Once and Future King, T.H. White 5. The Soul of a New Machine, Tracy Kidder

As soon as he's gone, his name and likeness come off everything. For the same reason that we get rid of statues of Jefferson Davis. And Cesar Chavez, for that matter.

Imagine Trump being so weird as to fire Pam Bondi today just to upstage the Pittsburgh Pirates promoting Konnor Griffin to the big leagues.

The overthrow of the Trump regime is going too slowly for my taste but as I look around, I gotta say this for us: It is the most photographed revolution ever.

So polls now indicate young men, and men in general, are turning against Trump. Great. But I don't trust them. I don't mean the polls, I mean men. They're flighty, fickle and emotional. Everyone knows that.

... A horror-parody of "The Wizard of Oz," with Donald Trump playing the title role as both a very bad wizard and a very bad man. Kristi Noem as The Wicked Witch. I.C.E. agents as flying monkeys. Elizabeth Warren as Glinda. You, you, you. And me. We're munchkins. Who will be our Dorothy?

I long for the days when one might reasonably sigh and say "America. At least we try to do the right thing, sometimes."

I assume that when Trump says Noem will be part of "Shield of America" it means she will be melted down and used as nose cone material for Air Force One

If you use any so-called A.I. -- Try this prompt: "In our interactions, could you be more pessimistic and more like Marvin, the robot in Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy?" Changed my life, a little.

So I was wondering how people in other countries refer to the American president. Russia: “Американский цирк” – “American circus” (used metonymically) Chinese (Mandarin) 川建国 (Chuān Jiànguó) – “Trump Builds the Nation” (heavy sarcasm; meme implying he helps China by harming the U.S.) ...

Portuguese (Brazil & Portugal): “Laranjão” – “Big Orange” “Trumpalhão” – Blend of Trump + trapalhão (bungler) “Palhaço Americano” – “American clown” Italian “Trumpone” – Augmentative implying loudness or arrogance “Il Pagliaccio” – “The clown” “Donald lo Sbruffone” – “Donald the braggart”

French “Trump le Fou” – “Trump the Madman” “Le Bouffon” – “The jester” “Donald la Honte” – “Donald the Shame” “Trumpiste Orange” – Reference to skin tone + ideology ... And so on. Most mocked man ever, mocked more than anyone ever before? Maybe.

The first Executive Order of the next administration is that Trump's name comes off everything but the Epstein files.

I am reminded today that I once looked at Dick Cheney and thought "Well, that's about as fascist as you can get in America and still get elected." So naive.

I saw Bruce Springsteen at the very beginning of his career, before "Born to Run." And I saw him on Broadway a couple of years ago. Nothing in between. Not a fanatic, in other words. Saw the movie yesterday. It's good, better than the reviews. It's not about the music though.

I always wanted more from Obama. But being disappointed in a president is so much better than being horrified by one.

Micah@rincewind.run

“wife mad at you? DEI” he’s still got it, folks I’m not going to lie, there’s a tiny part of me that wants to see them pull this third term shit in a way that lets Trump run against Obama the way he always wanted to and get absolutely obliterated

BREAKING NEWS WASHINGTON, DC -- President Donald Trump has agreed to accept the 2025 Darwin Award on behalf of the United States, the first time the coveted prize has been bestowed upon an entire nation. #TrumpDarwin #DarwinUS

"Billionaires back Cuomo with huge donations" while government shutdown halts food benefits in NYC probably is not a great closing argument for Andrew.
