I love Pikmin. Potentially an N64 connoisseur. Ryzen 7 3700x, RX 6600, 16GB 3200mhz. I highly prefer indies and older games btw. Sometimes I stream on Twitch! https://www.twitch.tv/theacingmango Art account (R-16): @serenemango.bsky.social

Update on 3DO. I had to split the levels' single package into 2 and some other minor things, but all in all, the latest changes didn’t create many issues. So I can run the puzzles and the second level just fine (minor issues still), not to shabby for #3DO 😊 #retrogaming #indiedev

...Yeah I might lose interest on finding people doing game dev on older consoles. What fascinated me was people's wit on crafting stuff. If shit is vibecoded, such thing doesn't exist.

In a LONG interview with Denfaminico Gamer, Masahiro Sakurai said the following about AI-made games: • There are too many Steam releases, and AI makes it worse. Most are “titles that can’t eat”, i.e. unprofitable. • Shoddy AI-made games mostly just reproduce systems existing in other games. 1/

By not possible I mean from their point of view because else I'm seeing Game Jams by the bulk that were extremely to the point and done in very little time. How come they can't have just a random hobby team doing random shit now?

Sometimes I saw the argument from veteran game developers that AI allows them to be kinda back to the old days when you could think of ideas and implement them very fast, but I'm also like... they clearly want to make smaller scale games again. How come that isn't possible in 2026 for some reason?

When I see AI generated thumbnails about the 64DD I'm always thinking about how they're missing the point anyway here's a bunch of shit I made in Mario Artist on it with my own hands

Recomps we're a nice novelty untill vibecoders joined the frame, it's a big bummer

There are tons of talk about remakes and I'm just here like thinking we should just mod the originals to add some quality of life improvements without straight up changing everything, just the minimum to remove a tiny bit of friction about the feel of controls and stuff like that.

Today I’ve worked on a room that is going to hold the last bit of a puzzle necessary to move to another level. Here is how it looks on #segasaturn. Also, in my patreon you can find a blender timelapse of the creation process. #retrogaming #indiedev

For those wondering, the art style is heavily influenced by Flipnote, which we researched, recreated the visuals, and then ultimately evolved the look a bit to what you see here.

The new game we’re making at @toyful.games is an online co-op puzzle adventure called “Reason and Rhyme”

Has anyone like... Made a Comeback spectrum of competitive games? Randomly remembered a video exposing that Modern Tetris is very forgiving on that (probably tetr.io being the most extreme case, as human capability is the only hard ceiling), whereas MOBAs are very snowball-y instead iirc.
