I'll talk about awful regime shit until he's gone but I'm not seeking an audience for it. I want bsky to be interesting for me, and that means followers who care about my actual interests. Pinning this in the hopes of kindly scaring away people who want to use this site in ways I don't.

Please only follow me if you're interested in some combination of beer, food, restaurants, Red Sox, Boston, or any niche other than US politics you see me post about that makes you consider following. I shouldn't be anyone's source for Trump shit. Get your news from journalists, not posters.

I haven't been back since my wife and I visited during our first vacation as a couple, so I don't know what has changed in Burlington, but on paper, it's hard to think of a better location for a brewery to succeed. Dark times. I was lucky to meet Greg a few times when I was just a baby beer drinker.

My wife sent me the following; it appears the Last Ditch bar in Greenfield, Massachusetts, is closing

Can anyone help me find the interview clip I saw of Seyfried from several weeks ago when someone asked ber if she saw the trailer for You Can See Everything?

Not the one where she reacts to rumors of her being it, and not the one where they asked her "how's your life?" Jer answer was something about being really interested to see it

10 weeks in, we're finally seeing signs of actual affection. They've enjoyed chasing each other, wrestling, and grooming, but I think we're approaching cuddling

We honestly don't want them to get too-bonded, because Chewy (the black kitty) belongs to a friend who very much misses him (and vice versa) who we hope is able to reclaim him soon. But it's still nice to have them (seem to?) enjoy being around each other

We published this story late Friday afternoon amid an avalanche of news so I’m reposting it now because Kohen Wiley’s life mattered more than a box of diapers.

Please find Mandy's posts on other social media outlets and share them publicly to boost them. It needs to end up in the feeds of Boomer and old-X'er Michigan Jews who are having their brains cooked in Facebook propaganda groups full of slop news and anti-Muslim hate. Mandy can break through that.

Is is Biberty or Bibberty? And, either way, is it the first Muppet people want to murder? (Leave Elmo out of this) I'm sorry to anyone first learning through this post that Jim Henson Creature Shop made that thing

We had finally gotten to see Coyote vs ACME a couple weeks ago and my wife and I both remarked how they finally found someone as talented as Mel Blanc. Awful. He had hypertension, which often has no symptoms. Most people shouldn't have a bathroom scale. We should all have blood pressure cuffs.

The final line in the post before this says "the rise of the international far-right is not inevitable." Machado is extremely far right! The pundits are not okay.

Anne Applebaum@anneapplebaum.wsocial.eu

On the same day, huge crowds are welcoming Machado back to Venezuela. Her return was blocked for months by the US-backed regime. Pressure from below finally made it impossible for Trump and Rodriguez to keep her out

Just saw someone defend this as "she's probably autistic," and LOL tell me you've never met an autistic parent, because unless they're an asshole. (neurodivergence implies nothing about one's asshole status) they're going to know every last detail of several of their kids' interests.

There's nothing I can say that the quote tweets don't say better, but they're worth a read. (Like me, they endorse this comment)

Tangential to the Cheesecake Factory talk is that their workers are genuinely elite tier 1 operators in the food service industry. I have a friend who manages bars and restaurants and he will instantly hire anyone with Cheesecake Factory experience. They are like the Marines minus the war crimes

Take 5 people who have 5 years at Cheesecake Factory and another 5 with 5 years at Waffle House, and they could run anything. Not just restaurants. They could do Theranos but make it actually work before lunch rush and open the Strait or Hormuz while breaking down after dinner.

I heard a cat bunny kicking something on the guest bed so I went to check it out, and Hubble was trying to solve a Rubik's Cube.

That sound you just heard was every ad person who ever had to pitch Pillsbury yelling some version of "that's not a teacher, helper, or friend!"

I'm the son of 2 people born in NYC who met in college on Long Island who only reluctantly became New Englanders before having me. A key step of independence from them was when I decided pizzas in addition to NY-style could be good / called pizza.

Jeremiah Graves@jeremiahgraves.bsky.social

I got added to a "Pizzaholics" group on Facebook (I know, I know) and, my dudes, these are the most insufferable pricks imaginable. It's a non-stop wave of middle-aged white guys yelling about how you're "wrong" for the way you like pizza. There's not a fate worse than becoming one of these chodes.

My favorite brewery of all-time closed, in part, because their brewkit had taken the last possible weld it could (metal can't be infinitely re-welded), and they would have needed to rebuild from scratch

Oops! All Paperclips@all-paperclips.bsky.social

Someone once told me (in the context of physical engineering) that everything leaks and it's all breaking all the time. It requires constant effort by countless professionals just to maintain the status quo. I think about that a lot, and it's even more true in the context of adversarial actors

(Cambridge Brewing Co. They did do some contract brewing for kegs and cans they provided of their flagships for other bars, but every other drop they brewed over 33 years was done on that same tiny kit that had to be hand-built into place. Literally impossible to reproduce.)

Weld a dunce cap on him. "The Democratic Party started becoming more pro-war, and the Republican Party, through Donald Trump, became more anti-war. At least it used to be, before the Iran war… Trump launched this terrible war the year I…run for Congress, and it’s not very helpful for my chances…”

Worrell and Culpepper are doing such an insane disservice to their constituents by positioning a T extension as an alternative to upgraded bus infrastructure. At least be honest about how much money it'll cost, how much time it'll take, and how public transit riders will suffer in the meantime.
