It ys tyme for Tulip skeptics to face some difficulte trouthes. Tulips are the waye of the future. Yf you do not invest yn Tulips you are way behinde. Yf you do not teache your children about Tulips thei will not be able to compete on the jobbe market. Onlye Luddites dislyke Tulips.

Old folklore says the thorns of wild roses are fairy ladders, tiny steps that help the Little Folk climb, swing, and travel from place to place. Next time you pass a briar, look closely, for you may catch sight of a fairy slipping away on a thorn-tipped stair. #RoseWednesday

Albino raccoon! So neat to see. At first I thought I saw a cat way up in the big box elder tree that I look out at through our kitchen window. Then I thought it was an opossum. Then I zoomed in… Maybe this is who has been digging up all of the turtle eggs around our yard.

Mother Nature said yellow is the color of the day! Spotted this Northern yellow warbler at Squiers Preserve in Chelsea. The yellow flowers are some kind of buttercup. It was wet and I didn’t get close enough to ID.

I’ve decided that I’ll use this account as a log for when I see “firsts”—as in first of the season. I’m in Southeast Michigan. Today: first bumblebee (actually saw several)! Also saw the first butterfly. #spring

1st-2nd February is Imbolc, a Gaelic festival celebrating the impending lambing season and the birth of new life. A Scottish legend tells that the arrival of snowdrops infuriates Beira, Queen of Winter, so she brings frost and snow as she battles to keep her hold. #FolkloreSunday
