To some extent the Muppet phenomenon is just ("just") good puppeteer-craft. See also: a dragon! Look at what a nice dragon this is. What a buddy. Very friendly. You want to pet the derg, right? :3

The #Lanterns finale... Man, that was fucking amazing. I don't see how they could have done a better job, but a LOT of people are going to hate it.

Guys, I think I figured out who murdered Hal Jordon... #WonderWoman #HalJordon #GreenLantern #Lanterns

#Lanterns Episode 7 pretty much confirmed what I have been feeling for a while. If John and Hal had met before whatever happened in 2006 (Pretty sure it was Sinestro) they would have been the best of friends.

#Lanterns Prediction - John is going to end up being able to charge the ring without a Lantern.

Celia Rose Gooding is the best thing to come out of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. I will freaking die on this hill. Someone needs to give that woman the lead in a series now. #STSNW #StarTrek #StangeNewWorlds #StarTrekStrangeNewWorlds

“…no French fries shall escape my sight…”

Just talking to someone on discord about seagulls stealing food and said "Those fuckers are so fearless they could be fucking green lanterns" Now I'm picturing a universe where the Green Lantern Corps is just 3000 seagulls with rings flying around the universe stealing food. #GreenLatern

You know, the "Don't Crack the Egg" rule can be incredibly frustrating sometimes. You see people who are struggling and you just want to go, "Look, dude, you're trans," because their life would be so much better if they just figured it out.

We really need to start teaching media literacy in schools. I just saw someone say episode three was all about turning John into a good little WWII German who just followed orders. That is was character assassination. 1/8 #Lanterns

In comics, the creative team changes every couple of years. The series can span decades. Writers will never know a character's complete history, so you need a static, stable character than can survive across creative teams and decades. 7/8 #Lanterns

In TV, in movies, in books, you need more dynamic characters. You need characters that grow and change and develop. Starting John off as the good soldier leaves room for him to *become* a hero. He's not there yet, but damn if they having set up a compelling journey for him. 8/8 #Lanterns

This is John Stewart at the start of his career as a Green Lantern. This is a John Stewart who still has to learn all those painful lessons. This John Stewart isn't ready to wield a Blue Lantern Ring, or to shatter the power of Umbrax and the Unseen light. 5/8 #Lanterns

I get that in comic books, heroes often appear on the first page of their first book fully formed and ready for battle. But that's a product of the format. 6/8 #Lanterns

Lanterns is following the Buddy cop formula. The whole point of the story is you take two very different people, and they *learn* from each other. John becoming the man who says 'Fuck the rules, I'll do what I believe is right' will be part of his character arc. 3/8 #Lanterns

Remember, for the love of God, this isn't the John Stewart who watched a world burn because he fucked up. This isn't the John Stewart who scared the Guardians so much they erased part of his memory to keep him in line. 4/8 #Lanterns

I'm sitting here thinking, "Holy fuck, do you not understand how character arcs work? John being a good, obedient soldier is the *START* of his character arc. Hal being an entitled, self absorbed (and honestly, slightly racist) asshole is the *START* of his character arc." 2/8 #Lanterns

#Lanterns episode 3... God, damn. I absolutely get why every "sir" sounds like a Fuck you. Hal earned every single one. I also get why John didn't, but when Hal made that Huxtable comment, I wanted to crawl through the screen and punch him in the face.

Just saw a comic of Petra Parker shopping for pants and complaining about fake pockets, and it gave me an idea. Petra's been sewing her own costumes for years, so in a huff, she just starts adding pockets to all the clothes she buys. 1/4 (Petra Parker) #petraparker

MJ, former model, and Felicia look at each other as an idea is born. They design the clothes, then get Petra to modify them so they have pockets without ruining the lines of the outfit. Then, they mass produce and sell them. 3/4 (Petra Parker) #petraparker

The line of women's clothes with actual pockets is a runaway success, and that's how Spider-women suddenly becomes one of the most well funded Superheroes in the Marvel Universe 4/4 (Petra Parker) #petraparker

@flatscan-comics.bsky.social

When MJ and Felicia see her do it, they ask her to add pockets to all of their clothes. Petra, wanting to take care of her girlfriends, does it, and they are delighted. All their friends ask where they're getting clothes with actual pockets. 2/4 (Petra Parker) #petraparker

I don't get why people are complaining about how "All the Petra Parker stuff is so hypersexualized" because... it isn't. I mean, yeah, there's some horny art, but it's not the majority of it, by a long shot. 1/3

28 Aug

Most of the art is just Petra Parker being happy, people being supportive, new suit designs, her doing regular Spidey shit, or her dealing with trans stuff, like trying out makeup, or needing new clothes cause the old ones don't fit. Hell, I'd say like 20% of it is just her eating snacks. 2/3

28 Aug

Sometimes, I think people look for reasons to find fault with anything that makes people happy. Petra Parker is too... Sexualized Masculine Big Small Feminine Passing Clocky Happy Whatever Just get over it, and let people find joy in something. The world is miserable enough. 3/3
