If nothing else, Elon has made a dramatic demonstration of the fact that as long as billionaires exist, our democracy cannot and does not legitimately exist.

It’s no coincidence that the ai push has a handmaid’s tailesque vibe of the incel forced-birth fascists driving to mandate mating + push themselves onto women so they can conquer, colonize & “continue their legacy” without consent—same mindset, same minds. Essentially… 1/2

…the big ai agenda, its “architects” & their army of missionaries + sympathizers, want you to stop struggling to maintain your autonomy, smile, lie back & take it… even say “good job!” To agree what they want is inevitable so that it is—they need us to help fulfill *the prophecy*. Let’s not🙃 2/2

The music in this AT&T/iPhone iPhone commercial drives me CRAZY. First commercial I’ve muted in years. I’ve even reactively turned the TV off. Not saying the musical piece is bad but I’m saying this particular use is torturous—the people who put it in a commercial are psychos.

I keep seeing people on threads defending ai like this & I don’t actually think it’s a slippery slope. I think the slope should be slipperier, towards being HIGHLY critical & self-critical of technology, how we are using it & the companies profiting from making us dependent on their products

I’m sorry… I think because I feel it’s my duty in this life to study the masses to gather data & contemplate what the fuck is wrong with everyone(& consider solutions!) I ended up lurking on threads more than Bluesky, lately I’m trying to compliment you & the elevated discourse here 😅

This person on threads replied to a sassy post saying ai was making people schizophrenic (prob meant psychosis) & I was like… “this reply is so ai” 🫠 to which they replied with more of it… and I’m sorry but I just can’t with this ChatGPT style 😭 “it’s not ____, it’s ____”

Over on threads I enter the discourse with The Lonely Men & I assure you they are not looking for solutions—ways to get closer to women. No, they are looking to complain about women (in theory—I don’t believe they have genuine experience) & they are looking for high-fives from other men.

ghost malone ergo propter bones@proptermalone.bsky.social

they don't want pussy. they want to endlessly critique pussy

Sorry I started posting on threads because you guys already agree with me & there are a lot of noobs over there that never even used Twitter who are still like “wow, I can’t believe that in 2025 Elon suddenly turned out to not be as cool as he seemed,” like years after he made that painfully obvious

Ha I guess others noted that he was describing himself because I just saw this on threads (with no credit so no clue who did it)

Ok but using his own words: Trump is a criminal, murderous, mentally insane convicted rapist, & incompetent president, who released J6 prisoners on us & is dragging our country to hell with his sick & dangerous ideology… so it’s hard for me to understand him as someone who is against those things

I implore people to think about what Memorial Day means, and then think about…this

Trump looks so weak to anyone with a true understanding of strength.

Joan Weinman@joanwein.bsky.social

Nothing screams ‘greatest country in the world’ like deporting brilliant students because one petty man with a brain the size of a pea got his feelings hurt by a university.

Maybe there is a proverb or something about the kind of man who would crush a kitten to death with his bare hands to prove his “strength,” but would run and hide from a tiger that’s eating his family. Trump is that kind of man. Men who only attack the vulnerable are weirdo insecure cowards.

If you think the Dems are one vote away from *anything* you are STILL not paying attention. My god. Not even 3 votes. Imagine whatever it takes you to participate in the next election like they need 50 fuckin seats. If you’re suggesting it’s one, you’re not only wrong, I think you’re a Republican.

Well yeah, Elon bought a ticket to a smash & grab session. Trump is transactional & has zero connection to anything being smashed or grabbed because he doesn’t care about any of us… so he didn’t give a shit. He evaded trial & gets to play king again. Artful deal.

Clara Jeffery@clarajeffery.bsky.social

Seems pretty clear that DOGE wasn’t ever designed to increase efficiency, but to destroy regulators in Musk’s way and gobble up the data of the American public and its government so as to provide Musk market advantage in AI race.

Elon is having to deal with people turning on him who previously somehow still thought he was admirable & does seem to have his tail between his legs a bit about making everyone embarrassed to drive a Tesla but he probably takes solace in imagining eventually using our looted data to control us all.

1/Something I cannot fathom is when people vote or withhold their vote seemingly with the intent of “punishing” a candidate. Like fantasizing about that candidate losing & crying. Teaching them a lesson. They may not “like” the opponent but actually enjoy that aspect of the humiliation. You freaks:

2/That candidate is just one person. And even if you want to “punish” all party officials… it’s not that many people. If you’re punishing an idea… you’ve become harmfully reductive. Yet your intent isn’t to reward the other candidate? To reward the opposing party? Their ideas? It’s fucking weird:

3/Because when I vote I just think of what will happen to all of us as a result of the admin that wins. I do not see a win as a reward to the candidate. I see it as protection for us—for the people. I make a strategic, harm reductive choice. In a general election, it’s never been a tough decision.

I haven’t seen this meme before but I’m having that feeling where I want to take it and smash it like a handful of cake into so many people’s faces

Those with psychology like Trump’s will do shit that doesn’t even help them just because they are seeking proof that they have power & are in control. They want to put their finger on something & push & see movement. They cannot otherwise believe their power. It’s one reason they are so dangerous.

Trump tries to fuck over everyone that works for him. He wants to create the illusion that it’s an honor just to have the opportunity to work for him. His narcissism means he does not want consensual, mutually beneficial relationships. He must feel he is in control. You’re weak. You’re begging.

Thanks. I’ve was posting the same stuff in 2016 but maybe people are able to better understand what I’m talking about now 🫠 it’s wild that so many people still don’t see it or can’t or won’t

If Trump can get away with not paying you, or not paying your benefits, or firing you & hoping you’ll crawl back for less, he will. That’s how he wants to run the US. He is never looking to do anything but help himself.

It's been orthodoxy among antivaxxers for decades that better hygiene made polio magically go away, the vaccine being introduced at the exact same time was just a coincidence.

Will Sommer@willsommer.bsky.social

Grim news from Joe Rogan world: Joe is getting into polio vaccine skepticism, and just had a guest who said polio wasn't that big a deal. Not good!

This guy was joking his way thru the 2016 general election as if this was not completely predictable if Trump had enough time in office Which the press did not feel he did so they helped him have another round. He just really wanted to be able to write posts like this. Witness something “important”

Chris Hayes@chrislhayes.bsky.social

Unidentified men grabbing someone off the street and putting her in a car because she wrote an op-Ed. This as flatly authoritarian as anything we’ve seen in this country in a very long time.

Until the new healthcare laws insurance companies wouldn’t cover me Changed my life Biden passed laws that helped me with my student loans Felt important But the media didn’t talk to people like me… they talked to white men who feel angry that anyone but them is allowed to breathe “Compelling!”

And it’s not just that… the rules are unclear & incessantly changing, in the hands of an elderly, mush-brained narcissist who is unfamiliar with his own executive orders, & his drug-addled billionaire blood boy or whatever Elon’s position is. It’s a complete shit show. Enter at your own HIGH risk.

Mike Rothschild@rothschildmd.bsky.social

The US is scheduled to co-host the World Cup in 2026 and the Olympics in 2028. Why would thousands of international athletes and millions of fans from around the world come to a country where tourists, asylum seekers, and visa holders are being disappeared to foreign prisons?

Something I wrote about before Trump first term, is how narcissists will feel around in your mind & your belongings, until you react like NO DON’T TOUCH THAT! THAT’S IMPORTANT! And then they will target whatever it is to control you. Touch. Threaten. Take & hide. Withhold. Hurt. Destroy. 1/2

Narcissists don’t know what someone would care about because they lack empathy, so they need you to show them what matters to you… show them your weakness. Trump & co figure out what’s important by how we react when they threaten it. If we scream when he says he’ll destroy something… bingo 🎯 2/2

One of my earliest posts on here (in Jan) was about how I’d gone to make sure an Elon tweet I saw shared was real, & ended up having to scroll foreverrrr to just get thru one day. I once imagined this graph in my mind. It was satisfying & disturbing to see it.

Today I lost an NIH grant training clinicians to do research about intimate partner violence with perinatal women. More women are murdered in the perinatal period than die of obstetric complications. I didn't just lose a grant. We lost an entire cohort of people building careers to prevent that.

For good reason & due to a lack of expertise, I had some spiraling thoughts while driving yesterday, as one does. Maybe you can point me to someone who has talked about this… 1. Can Trump step down before his term is over in order for Vance to pardon him for his crime collection?

Like, I will be living in another country if the following happens, I’m sorry, later fuckers, but 2. If Vance is then elected POTUS & serves 2 terms… must he step down before the end of his term because of his partial serving of the end of Trump’s term? Then can his VP pardon HIS inevitable crimes?

Y’know, with the order of our government relying on men *choosing* to behave in a particular manner, instead of any written law enforcing it (thanks, genius forefathers!), it’s almost like we’ve trusted in something that never existed. And I don’t personally fully understand what does exist AHAHHA👻

The real problem is that our institutions’ integrity is not baked in by law… it relies on the people running them to have integrity. That was a major miscalculation.

Adam Serwer@adamserwer.bsky.social

American civil society is full of abject cowards, that is the issue. The government is a mafia state but it is winning because most American elite institutions are devoid of anything resembling integrity and are folding rather than stand on principles that were little more than marketing.

This is also why a lot of people have trouble parsing the stuff Musk or whoever is doing to the federal government "Why would you do this? It only hurts people, with no conceivable benefit to anyone!" yes that's why, they like hurting people as an end in itself

I think he is stuck in the past, in denial—trying to hang on to the job he initially came to do & did. Waiting for everyone to snap out of it. He doesn’t seem to realize that it’s up to him to snap out of it. His old job is gone & he can’t seem to step into the new reality.

AYMAN on MSNBC@ayman.msnbc.com

“Because they have Stockholm syndrome, guys like Schumer. Your captors have abused you for God knows how long and you’re like, ‘they might work with us again one day,’” @chucknicecomic.bsky.social on Dems low approval rating & Schumer still trying to work with Republicans

I’ve been boiled like a frog a bit before, thinking some bad behavior in a relationship or at a workplace was temporary. Letting it go on too long. DUMP HIM GRRRL! He’s not ever gonna be the same as when you first started dating. Don’t wait for him to change. Accept it. Make your moves.

Oh man if only we’d hoarded billions of dollars this year so that we didn’t have to pay anything in taxes But no, we must send ours in so that we can crowdfund one of Elon’s personal projects

The thing with Trump, with those who are deep in their NPD patterns, which he is—is that you will be constantly placed in “no-win” situations If it feels like the choices you’re being given are both bad, that’s right. They are.

My advice back in 2016 was that you’d have to not allow him to be elected because if you did, it would be an endless series of no-win situations… where you are damned if you do and damned if you don’t, by design. The only win is not engaging with him in the first place. You fucked that up. TWICE

It’s funny—when you teach a toddler how to do a thumb’s up you realize it’s something you have to practice & understand to master. It doesn’t really come off the same without finger mastery, confidence & understanding of the gesture. Anyhow, Trump always looks like a kid doing it 👍 #babyhands

emptywheel@emptywheel.bsky.social

Elon paid $250M and this babysitter doesn't even seem to like his kid.

He thinks “Jewish” & “Palestinian” are both slurs in their own way tbh. It’s just so harmful to have this person leading our country + disgusting that people chose to allow him to access the presidency. Millions *chose* to elect him… & millions more *chose* not to participate in stopping him. Gross.

Justin Baragona@justinbaragona.bsky.social

Donald Trump: "Schumer is a Palestinian as far as I am concerned. He has become a Palestinian. He used to be Jewish. He is not Jewish anymore. He is a Palestinian."

This is thought policing. You which foreign-born man I see as a CLEAR AND PRESENT DANGER to foreign policy & national security interests of the United States? Elon Musk Which American citizen? Donald Trump They have taken actions that have already proved it Foreign allies(former) agree

News Eye@newseye.bsky.social

NEW: White House says the arrest and deportation of student activist & legal US resident, Mahmoud Khalil, is a blueprint for more. The final line here is chilling. The White House specifically says Khalil was not breaking the law. No evidence, no due process, no crime. He was just disappeared.

Friends, stop telling people stuff online and talk to them IRL everyone in your social media network already knows

Chris Hayes@chrislhayes.bsky.social

I know this is going to sound naive or earnest, but I genuinely find myself shocked by how little people seem to be upset by the levels of corruption we're seeing. Is that the median voter assumes everyone is corrupt already? Or isn't actually getting stories about the corruption?
