Trans youth watching Democrats turn anti-trans to court unobtainable votes will never forgive Democrats. How do I know? Because I've never forgiven Democrats for the same anti-gay playbook they ran for unobtainable votes when I was a queer youth in the 1990s.

You have to be familiar enough with the genre you're writing that you don't just show up all "heh, bet you slop-eaters have never seen anything like this: [unoriginal work derivative of the most mainstream entries in the genre]" and you also have to bring in ideas from outside the genre.

One thing about the whole "you have to read books if you want to be an author" thing is that if you aim to do more than just genre inbreeding, you have to read stuff outside the genre you're writing, too. May even have to read [shudders] nonfiction.

My heart is heavy. Walter Koenig, our Ensign Pavel Chekov, passed away early today. Walter and I met on the bridge of the Enterprise in the 1960s, and we stayed friends for nearly six decades. When Brad and I married in 2008, Walter stood beside us as our best man.

My pal Danielle Koenig shared that her father Walter Koenig passed away last night at age 90. A performer whose kindness and warmth shone through the screen. He will be well remembered.

Have a small, self-hosted WordPress site & need to update the PHP, but not super tech-y? What I did: 1. Log in to WP. Make sure WP & plug-ins are updated. If not, update. 2. Log in to web host. They should have an alert & help doc. In mine: a simple select PHP version & update button. Done!
