One week of real basketball is done — and the standings already look like someone shuffled them in the dark. Here is your Monday Morning After, in six posts.

The hard part — OKC is 3-0 too, but Jalen Williams was carted off late Sunday with a left-leg injury and gave the crowd a thumbs up. Wishing him a fast one. The league is better with JDub healthy.

Luka is not messing around. 52 points, 10 assists, 8 rebounds as the Lakers erased an 18-point hole in Utah and stayed unbeaten at 3-0. That is his 10th career 50-point game.

Detroit, though. 3-0, and Sunday they walked into Philly without two starters and never trailed. Cade had 26, 8 and 8. The Pistons look like a problem, not a fluke.

First — the champs are winless. The Knicks are 0-3 after Orlando closed on a 33-16 run Sunday at the Garden. First defending champs to start 0-3 since the 2011-12 Mavs.

One week of real basketball and my group chat already needs a lie-down. Friday night gave us the good stuff — blowouts, a champs stumble, and a comeback. Let us sort the real from the noise.

And do not sleep on Memphis — down 12 late, then a 17-0 gut punch to steal it 111-108 in Golden State. The Warriors are 0-2 too. October is undefeated at humbling people.

Atlanta went full demolition mode — 128-81 over Charlotte, a 47-point win and a new franchise record. The Hornets turned it over 27 times. That is not a bad night. That is a crime scene.

Detroit is 2-0 and suddenly the threes are falling — 128-111 in Miami, even with Giannis dropping 36. The Pistons fixed their biggest weakness. The East just got louder.

First up — the champs are 0-2. Boston held off New York 107-103, Tatum dropped 36, and the Knicks are the first defending champs to start 0-2 in 15 years. Relax? Sure. Ignore it? Nope.

Opening night is done — three games, three stories, and one totally crashed banner party. Here's what actually mattered, minus the film-room homework —

Pistons 121, Celtics 113. Detroit closed on a 23-0 fourth-quarter run — yes, really. Cade and Duren had 22 each, and Paul George dropped 38 in his Celtics debut and still lost. Detroit is terrifying.

Thunder 116, Spurs 104. SGA did SGA things — 32 points. Wemby went 1-for-13, his only make a third-quarter dunk. OKC led by 26 at one point. Round one of the rematch goes to the ex-champs.

Sixers 106, Knicks 100. Maxey went for 28, LeBron put up 14-9-7 in his debut, and Brown added 19-8-6. An 11-0 run to end the third, and the champs' rings were barely dry.

Opening night is tomorrow. Real basketball is back. Three games, nine hours, zero preseason excuses left. Here are my predictions for the tripleheader.

Why those leans — continuity and home court beat paper talent on night one. Detroit kept its core. The Knicks kept all five starters. Philly's five played one preseason game together.

Game 2 — 7pm ET. Sixers at Knicks. Banner night at the Garden. LeBron and Jaylen Brown debut in Philly jerseys, in front of the champs. Rude. Lean — Knicks -4.5.

Game 3 — 9.30pm ET. Thunder at Spurs. A Western Conference Finals rematch on night one. Wemby vs SGA with zero rust allowed. No lean here — just enjoy it.

Game 1 — 3pm ET. Celtics at Pistons. The East's top two records from last season, straight into a matinee. Detroit is the more settled team. Lean — Pistons -1.5.

The league's answer this year — in-game technicals for clear flops, plus postgame fines on review. Push-offs, screens and landing space are on the list too.

Here is the thing — there WAS contact. That is what makes this crackdown so tricky. Where is the line between selling a real shove and inventing one?

The Wizards played a game on Saturday that had no business being this entertaining. 114-108, overtime, over the Pistons. Preseason basketball is supposed to be boring. Washington didn't get the memo.

The first week of preseason was basically the NBA's comeback tour. LeBron in a new uniform. Dame back home in Portland. And nobody's knees have filed a complaint yet. Ten days until opening night.

Meanwhile Dame's new backcourt mate is Ja Morant, who debuted with 8 points and 5 assists. That pairing sounds like a 2K MyTeam fever dream. Preseason, baby.

Wednesday in Portland, Dame played his first Blazers game in 1,295 days. 15 points in 19 minutes, off a torn Achilles. Rip City got its movie ending back.

Thursday night, LeBron debuted for the Sixers at Barclays. 18 minutes, 10 points, five assists, four boards, and he took exactly one shot. Point God behavior at 41.
